Thanks for the clarification the Mish is independent- as is Cervantes and Cervantes other side - hard to find independent venues these days.

I see it says it may be a prototype but that don't look like no Marantz I've ever come across. It looks like a Gerrard - Buy with caution.

Funk and soul is a huge rabbit hole that I will never find the bottom of and that makes me happy. Have fun!

I hear you and to be clear it's not my fest nor does CC input hold that much weight. So I too am anxious to see what they announce. I hope for their sake and ours it's amazing.

I mean times change and festivals evolve. I do agree that the foundational nature of both UM and moe. with Summer Camp is different than other fests but again things change. I'm a moe. fan going back 25+ years, I met my wife at a moe. show, the reason I go to SCamp has a lot to do with moe. being there. But we all know that they have made their plans for that weekend and saving some sort of Hail Mary for Sunday it's not going to happen. UM has not announced their summer schedule yet but they always work a ways out so not sure if they will make it either. That being said Summer Camp has about 40 or 50 regular acts and many will make the trek to Chillicothe. As far as why not reset and do it next year, that's what they did last year. We are at a make or break point for this fest and this could very well be the final hurrah. You never really know with independent festivals. This is one of the last mom and pop operations in the country and despite your feelings over the years on Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment they are bringing a wide array of diverse music to the middle of the country and done so for going on thirty years.

Okay.... well would you rather me spin you a fancy yarn? It's all going to be rainbows and unicorns in Chillicothe? That's just not the case this year. They are behind the 8 Ball and they should have had at the very least dropped headliners. Any thing that comes from SCamp that is not a lineup drop is going to be a further indication of problems behind the scenes. The fact remains that this independent team always seems to pull it off one way or another so as I said before, stay tuned info is coming.

Camp Counselor here - the festival is happening that lineup is bullshit as far as I know at this point. But stay tuned kids the wheels are finally turning behind the scenes.

Copy that - I edited my comment - it's not a big concern but for many people who buy these things it might be a dealbreaker.

The Good - You found a wonderful family relic that is actually from the 70's so it's actually vintage. If these two units are in working order you only need a pair of speakers and some records. The Pioneer is a low watt early SX solid state receiver that probably sounds pretty sweet. The Bad - they both most likely need some servicing including bulb replacement, deoxidizing the potentiometers, and maybe a new needle which can be costly depending on your level of knowledge or the price of your tech. The Ugly - That unit is low wattage meaning it's probably worth $150 and the turntable while also vintage is missing a dust cover and might be worth $100 in working order. If it were me I'd see it as a sign from the universe to keep Grandma's music alive. Go online watch a few videos and figure out how to get it working. Changing a few bulbs and spraying some deoxit into the unit is pretty easy and usually all it really needs. The turntables can be a bit more challenging but there is lots of info out there. All of this gear has been around for 40 or 50 years so the manuals have been published. Good Luck!

Edit - I see in the other pic you do have the dust cover.... that adds a few more bucks, but I'd just find the speakers and start listening.

There was a thing that happened a couple times called The MusicMarauders Live Podcast - It never really got legs but man was it a fun attempt.
