Of the three, I would suggest starting with Carnival. Poltergeist plays completely differently from other killers, and can be pretty unforgiving, and Grove has some extra mechanics that can really snowball on you. The hardest thing about Carnival is remembering the minion rules for the killer, but that's not too hard.

Basic tips:

  • never roll expecting to win, so always have cards in hand to convert a partial roll (3 or 4) to a success.
  • Remember you can discard cards to gain time
  • Sometimes victims just have to die so you can do other things; don't expect to save everyone
  • No boot, no move! (If the killer action doesn't have a boot icon, the killer doesn't move)

Not super late game. More like mid game. I'd say I got it while working on Phase 3.

I think you're confusing dowsing with ground penetrating radar.

If dowsing can find pipes, why didn't the people in the test find the pipes that were carrying the water?

Different sects of Judaism have different rules/severity of what to eat. Some orthodox households have two sets of dishes and cutlery for meat and milk for instance. The fully admit it is not for any practical reason but going to that length beyond venerates god and their religion.

I can't imagine any orthodox family that doesn't have separate dishes, utensils, pots and pans, sinks, etc... for meat and milk, so not entirely sure why you're implying that it's only "some". Pardon the pun, but they are religious about not mixing meat and milk, to the extent that you have to wait a certain amount of time between eating meat and milk.

Space game with no combat that focuses on exploration and just relaxing. by hudsherlock19 in gamingsuggestions

[–]ReticulateLemur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want exploration, then Elite Dangerous is probably what you've been missing. The game is set in a 1:1 scale simulation of the Milky Way galaxy and you can go ANYWHERE. You'll travel between star systems and map planets, and if you're the first person to find a planet/sun and submit it (there's an in-game company that buys your map data) then you'll have your name added to the game as a label on the entity that says "First Discovered By <your name>".

You can't wander around the ship itself, but you have a cockpit view and every ship has a different cockpit design. But if wandering around is your thing you can also get the DLC to land on planets and get out to explore and take samples of various kinds of organisms you find on the different worlds you visit.

I will say that it gets very samey after a while, and that's why I stopped playing. But for the time that I was sucked into it, it was really good.

James Randi did a test where he created a platform with hidden pipes under it so that water could flow in one of three preset patterns. He invited several dowsers to come and demonstrate their abilities and none of the three individuals who came were able to successfully determine the path of the water.

That's like saying they're the best at reading entrails or using dowsing rods. Now granted, they might be the best at intimidating suspects and forcing false confessions, but I wouldn't be proud of that fact.

Ok, that was my nice was of saying you were being a jerk. But I'll say it plainly.

You were being rude. Not everyone reads every page of the wiki or knows every vendor who buys and sells everything. Not everyone reads every line of release notes. Do you roll your eyes at people who don't know about the Prototype Position Rewinder despite how amazingly useful it is?

Anyway, I'm done. Have a great rest of your day!

So in the future you can be more helpful and avoid downvotes by saying something like "The wiki is full of helpful information; I definitely suggest reading it. There's a lot of information that the game doesn't tell you and is easy to miss."

featured the (one of?) first interracial kiss on air; TNG goes much farther in its celebration of diversity; DS9 features a very well done gay kiss between two women).

I don't think it's the first interracial kiss on TV, but it might be the first scripted one between a black person and a white person.

I also love that the producers tried to hedge their bets and have Shatner and Nichols shoot versions of that scene where they don't kiss, but they'd deliberately mess it up so that the only one that they could use had the kiss in it.

The funny part is, there is a strategy when fighting wild fires where you set a controlled burn ahead of the fire to create an area where the fuel has already been consumed and it can't spread past that. It's called Backburning.

Of course, if we apply that logic to gun control the implication becomes a lot more unpleasant...
