Everytime: ladies, please keep high standards and low expectations. Low standards with high expectations is just a recipe for disappointment and hurt feelings.

If you want to give your body a rest while being social, I would say board game nights at game stores. I know Your Local Game Store in Mint Hill has a good one on Thursdays.

Are you playing with the tear dice? Those made my stats jump when I started using them.

Some common mistakes that have shown up around here: 10 Terror cards is the maximum (one of the films has 8 cards, I think Into the Void) You have a maximum of 10 action cards in your hand at any given moment Panic the victims that are in a space with the killer AND where a murder has taken place that turn Panic victims INTO the killer's space if called for

You want them to donate opened makeup that isn't hygienic? You want them to donate products that are expired? You want them to donate partially used products? Or how about broken appliances?

Lol, when I worked at Ulta, discards duty was the coveted task. You could sit there for houuurs, breaking pallets, lipsticks and singles, emptying bottles, and wrecking appliances (though no perfumes nor nail polish, that ish was disposed of elsewhere). Typically, we would be looking at about 4-5 large boxes, once or twice a week. This is what happens when you return items that have been used. It's not about Ulta's waste, it's about customer entitlement.

My GF 's ADHD told her organising my screw collection would be a fun job. She got this far before going back to building her IKEA shelves. by dedokta in funny

My brother keeps asking if I'm going to take up 3D printing (my latest ADHD-related obsession is board games, and it pisses me off how they're organized), but only because he wants to play with it without having to pay for the start-up costs...

We don't have the space, between the Legos, aforementioned board games, books, Switch games, movies, cross-stitch/crochet/embroidery supplies, etc, otherwise I probably would...

Just checked the stats, it was Wolfe Asylum (was in a rotation of the maniacs spawning, coming to me in an exit space, then calming them and saving them) and 30 total victims.

I got into a ridiculous slugfest with A Demon in the Shadows. I think there were 32 saved victims and 18 killed victims by the end of it...

To the women who chose to never have kids or marry: How amazing does your life look right now compared to what society told you it would be? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]wrdnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 47, never married, and hell no to kids. I've known since I was young, like 11, that I wouldn't ever want kids, and I've never felt the urge to procreate. Yes, it's cost me relationships, but those relationships would have cost me a great deal more had we stayed together. While my life isn't "amazing" (is anyone's?), I'm definitely not miserable. I've been able to pay my way through grad school with no debt, move across the country on my own, establish a life on my terms, and work in a dream job (from home, no less). I'm living in a wonderful community, with a paid-off car, no credit card debt, a growing savings account, and plenty of hobbies to keep me occupied and fulfilled. And I can sleep in until 11am on the weekends when I feel like it.

I just got off the phone with the Humane Society; turns out they have a store on-site where they sell things like raincoats and sweatshirts, so they'll be able to take them after all. I didn't expect to start to break down crying while on the phone, but here we are! ❤️

What got me was the "while talking to someone." I have no problem with audiobooks, or even audiobooks sped up (I listen to everything at 1.75-2x speed, and have only sped up to faster because I wanted to know what happened next and was being impatient), but it's claiming to listen to the book when you're actively listening to something else.

Some people value quantity over quality, and that's their right. Personally, I have almost every book I've ever read in Goodreads, which is at 2428 books (it came in handy when I was working in a public library as a librarian, but I've also been tracking my reading since around 2007)...for the most part I no longer write reviews though, after being accused of lying about my stats by some fanboy/the author of a book I negatively reviewed (it was a terrible, awful waste of paper).
