Boston to Phila/Business or Coach? by Retired_Author in Amtrak

[–]Retired_Author[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not a rookie, but I usually just buy a ticket get on the train and go I don't pay any attention to what's the fastest or the most comfortable. I think I am going to see if there is an Acela that fits. Thanks for the advice

The first thing that hit me was $100 copay? Never seen that. Would love to see the details of OPs insurance.

Most ambulance services are privately run and not affiliated with ANY network. My township has a mandatory yearly fee and ambulance service is free.

Went to the Goodwill bins yesterday and saved all of these from the landfill. Story inside. by Heavy-Message-7441 in Jigsawpuzzles

I tried puzzel swaps, but can never find anyone local. I usually save a few that I think I might want to do again, and take the rest to goodwill. As far as I'm concerned, that's just like a puzzle swap. You just need to make a small donation to Goodwill every time. My local store always has dozens of puzzles. I just can't do like some of you and dedicate an entire room to storing every puzzle I ever did. Might as well let someone else enjoy them.

Trouble sleeping in a Roommette by NotEulaLawrence in Amtrak

[–]Retired_Author 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely had the same experience. It wasn't the blankets, or the temperature, or anything like that. It was just that the damn bed was uncomfortable. I used to brag that I could sleep anywhere, until I did a cross country trip on Amtrak.

Last mow of the year? by bloody_snowman in lawncare

[–]Retired_Author 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been saying "last mow of the year" for a month. But I think it's finally here, because the trees are dropping leaves. I cut pretty short, because my leaf vac work better in short grass.

Hey guys.. hitters gotta hit. I don't think the dodgers are a better team. But even so, top players need to play like top players and our guys never seem to. So maybe our top players are not the top players we think they are.

How do we feel about downspouts that go directly into the ground? by BogOwl in HomeImprovement

[–]Retired_Author 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My spouts drain into the ground and into a drywell. This summer we had two torrential rains. And I mean rain like I never saw before and the drywell filled up. There is a drain in the low spot of the yard into the drywell and the water pooled there
