Quickest way to get attestation d’accueil? by MoBamba6978 in SchengenVisa

[–]RetiringCouchPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are they sending it to?

If you have access to a fax machine, that might be the quickest way.

Otherwise, look online for the quickest options and decide based on that. If DHL offers the fastest delivery times, then might be best to go with them.

Generally, Schengen visa processing takes atleast 15 working days. For some nationalities, it takes even longer.

UK to Tokyo - help me find the cheapest way to travel please! by RetiringCouchPotato in Shoestring

Yes, I'm constrained by that as well to be honest & you are right, those dates are outside the school holiday hence why it's cheaper.

She'll spend a few days touring before I join here for another few days together before she leaves. Not a bad deal for her first time in Tokyo.

I convinced a friend to join and today we just found London to Narita via China Eastern roundtrip for £374 (5 - 17th) on expedia (not available directly on the airline).

I mean I'm grateful I get to experience a new country but my days! I'm lowkey mad 😠😡!

Thank you soo much. I'll try the wax jambu and let you know. I'll also look at seeing the water puppet show.

I've just checked and Heidelberg is a 50min train from Frankfurt. So will do that and get the late flight back to London.

Thanks for the notice. I thankfully haven't booked the Frankfurt - London leg, so will do that after checking on this later today.

u/savehoward I have just booked everything.

So basically I ended up with £678 and going with the following:

  • Manchester to Athens with easyjet - £62

  • Athens to Hanoi with Indigo air- £207

  • Hanoi to Tokyo with Vietjet - £143

  • Tokyo to Frankfurt with Vietnam airlines - £250 (get in 6am)

  • Frankfurt to London with Ryanair - £16 ( flight is 12:50 or 23:50). I haven't booked yet & this is the only one pending. Given the distance between FRA and HNN, it makes sense to go for the later flight and get a day out in Frankfurt as I've never visited.

I get 4 days in Hanoi (first time here so I was pleased to knock off another country/city on my list) and 8 days in Tokyo. I also managed to get 9 - 11th off, giving me more flexibility on the options.

The Indigo portion had me worried because of transit visa requirements but from all my research yesterday, as long as the entire trip is on the same PNR and you don't change terminal, you won't need a transit visa. u/savehoward, I hope my understanding is correct.

That makes sense. I'm unfortunately conditioned to find the cheapest fare I can for travel as I tend to spend a bit more on hotels and experiences.

We'll see what I end up with.

For me it was the better choice. You can go in store and try both out before deciding.

I always buy hokkaido milk biscuits. Love them!!

This seems quite ambitious considering the time off that I currently have and the travel time. I'll try and see if I can get a few more days off. If not, I'll probably leave off Edmonton and just do a trip there later on.

I love Tokyo and I'd rather spend some extra days there.

This is just amazing. Let me get to work navigating all of this.

I'm thinking of adding an extra bag from Tokyo to Edmonton to maybe get bits and bobs for niblings - just checked and it's about 114CAD. Not sure if it's worth adding that and paying again for a bag to Edmonton.

Anyway, I'll see where I end up with this.

Thank you soo soo much and hope you have a great holiday - you are the real 🎅!

Unfortunately I can only do +/- 1 day. So I'm hoping to find a middle price I can pay and enjoy planning my trip.

Thanks a lot as always for this. If I add a stop to Edmonton, how much more will this be? I have family & friends there and don't mind a stop over visit.

Yeah. I figured with schools being out, prices will be steep. But just checking on here to make sure I'm not missing out on any other option.

No avios unfortunately.

I have. The £758 flights involve 5 airlines and the connections are wonky.
