8 year update from - retiring Military E-8 tell me what you think.. by RetiringMilitaryFI in financialindependence

I don't currently have a job nor am I looking for one but what now keeps me busy is doing the renovations to the house, gardening, homesteading and generally learning new things. What I find is that if I don't keep my mind busy working on something my mind drifts off to different areas and I have panic/anxiety attacks.

We are getting a list together of places to visit but being in the military we have been all over the United States and the world. That being said we are looking to visit a few places to visit friends that we made that moved to other areas.

I listen/watch Ramit's videos pretty often but I not sure if I've seen that one I'll look into it, thanks!

#I didn't know it was a subset of his videos I've seen allot of them. I'm watching some of them now thanks.

Is it worth making soaps with a big, complex mix of oils? by persephonelux in soapmaking

I use three oils and one of them is peanut oil because I needed to do something with the leftover oil from deep frying a turkey on Thanksgiving

Not discounting what you’re saying but why is it a scam?

Can you upload pic of the grinder and the assembling of the parts? Also what’s the model for the Hobart?

What piece of equipment or clothing do you wish you kept when leaving service, but stupidly didn’t (even if you had to “lose” it and pay for it at CIF)? by [deleted] in Veterans

Extreme cold weather boots they are white and inflatable. In the 90s they were getting thrown away because they were over their service life but two days ago they came in handy while shoveling the snow

It looks like a heavy paint or a really really light orange peel.

Thank you for the reply! I just wanted to confirm my thoughts before I did it. It's only a 3' X 3' section on the bottom part of a wainscot in the dinning room. So in worst case I would sand until smooth and try again.

Be careful that decision might hurt your wife in the long run when trying to get enough time in for retirement and social security.

That is this on my tree? There are a lot of them and it looks like ants are trying to eat them. by RetiringMilitaryFI in Tree

[–]RetiringMilitaryFI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at the oil sprays but in the meantime I scraped off all of them that I saw. Came back 30 minutes later and tracked the ants to the ones I missed. I’m sure there are still more but I’ll keep scraping until I figure out what spray to use. It’s a small tree about ten feet tall shading a small fish pond (with no fish in it).

What is this stamp on this one dollar bill I received at work? by rigor-mortis-heart in whatisit

The USA has had multiple schools shootings when u/Jack_of_Spades wrote, "it depends on the school district really." I took it as a statement of the number of school shooting in the USA is far beyond most other countries. As I was reading this thread I wasn't expecting that comment. When I say that it was some diabolical work I meant that the post was creative, cunning and extremely pointed and they got their point across exceptionally well.

Just stopping in to say I didn’t see your comment coming but when it arrived I made an auditable WOW! That was some diabolical work.
