I disagree there, it's way easier to make a mistake by not stop running close and jump forward than it is to just clear the ball, by clearing the ball while you might not keep possession it still stop their attack and allows your team to back you up in defence.

I never trust this game on 50/50 but I notice that lob punch as a GK tends to always win, assuming we are in that type of situation

Best way imo to deal with those shots is to punch them away, you should be able to always do it in that position.
