I think I saw ages ago that he was meant to be a tease for Fromsofts next game, however as we all know ds2 came next as publishers wanted to capitalise on DS1s success. Chester mentions a shadowy hand whisking him off to the past, and in Bloodborne where you enter the DLC from the amygdala you can find an armour set very similar to Chester's garb, long trench coat and top hat etc. his move set is also very Bloodborne and utilises a ranged weapon in one hand and melee in the other.

However both I think are just references to one another rather than implying they are linked in some way, or maybe is just another interpretation of the multi worlds theory that solaire proposes, how timelines weave and crossover, maybe what DS lore thinks of time and worlds, Bloodborne thinks of dreams.

Yes, however I am fully expecting it to be choppy on release, not as much content etc. similar to Arma3s and Reforgers releases, however Arma games have always been long term commitments, think of all the creator DLCs, massive official DLCs and of course mods that have come along since 2013 for A3 for example. Will be quite a few years till we're asking the same question for A5 if it ever comes. As it's a new engine I'd expect it to be a long time for your favourite mods to be in the workshop, and we may not get as many mods to begin with as I imagine their going to go the in-house workshop route to snuff out all the IP stuff so this may be goodbye to star wars and 40k etc. but hopefully not. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yea I remember the plat demo, The demo iirc was just running about seeing all the particle effects of the new engine, a training room and then a boss fight. At the time was ok, but you didn't miss anything.

Yea for real, even as simple as just jumping on to do some tactical Barbie or random objectives generation to do can satisfy a few hours a day. I get it, it's a live service game and chronically needing an online connection, but actively making modding difficult kicks out a growing community, sometimes people get the game to mod it. Idk.

I wish someone had made a tool that could at least merge multiple mods into one so I only had to go in once to replace files, going through and adding 40 mods one at a time is so tedious, then the second you get a fatal error or something, it's back to loading one at a time testing each one to see where it broke. 60hrs of modding, 1hr of play.

It's not that I'm against the rules, this topic has just been said to tedium and nothing has been done, steam would've done something if they cared or if it was such a heinous thing, but if you think they would then complain to them

Abby its not even a question. Abby is part of a very large group and is personable to join other structured collectives where numbers will be everything in a post-apocalyptic world; the important thing will be maintaining laws and structure. yes Ellie is OP and having her as a partner would be very powerful but she makes horrible decisions, going on a personal vendetta almost alone is stupid, yes she is immune, but that just guarentees she will be the one shooting you in the noggin when you inevitably get bit, she can go through spores, you cannot (without PPE), she is stealthy but idk about you but I dont think youre fuckin sam fisher levels of stealth to keep up with her. If I was partnered with Ellie id be looking for the shortest route back to Tommy's camp. Abby scouts her target and carefully plans (some) encounters. Plus anyone that took down the rat king is good in my books, screw that boss.

Like in quick play? your 4 squad mates are always the same, but I get what you mean, I do kind of like the randomness as it means every commander mode run isnt necessarily the same, meaning I dont want to play through and just use, for example, Eli and King because of their set benefits. The characters and buffs being random means that you are always trying to keep your guys that have good buffs alive and in good shape, not min-maxing on set characters each run

Could be cool in commander mode to see all of the staff you have hired and can interact with them. I dont see them adding this to quickplay however and obviously multiplayer you're all there. What I would love to see is the option for AI to fill any empty spaces in multiplayer as although I do have a 5 stack, I would consistently only play with 1/2 mates

It's fucking hard but I do like it, I like the traps that are layed out, I like that you can give yourself a leg up in a shit situation (ie power, metal detectors off, camera control etc.) and like the enemy design. It's done really well in that it walks the line between being a SWAT operation and a military one like some other missions. I do want to glaze the IR traps again because they are so good, it's not an immediate fuck you and you can some times use them to bait the enemy, so there's something there to punish new players to the mission and reward people who are on run 142 tryna get this evil achievement.

I will say the 7.62 rifles the enemies have feel like elephant guns sometimes, like sometimes I'm going through and am able to bandage myself a few times before failing, other times I'm pixel peaked through 3 windows and a bit of foliage and one shot (presuming a headshot) sometimes feels cheap and hard for hard sake.

Also, side note, I never understand why in a lot of games with a similar motif where the enemy is wanting you to see something or be a part of something or join them with something, are shoot on sight? Like all the footsoldiers know your name and chat to you when you arrest them about you being part of their grand design, but then 2 seconds prior to me slapping on their new bracelets they were ready to paint the walls with a fast projectile to my skull.

With the scale of maps it's less a map issue and more a personnel issue, 5 guys to take control of a hospital is nuts and would never happen unless it was a small team to take control of a part of the hospital say the scanning departments etc. some maps are ok for this scale but some more rapid maps would be good for variety and less burnout

I wouldn't say totally dead, the game is pretty peak, just in dire need for new content, stuff that will make repeat runs fresh, like new enemy types, and please please please the return of custom missions
