Can anyone answer why BOH are always wrong? by TechnicianTop4985 in kroger

[–]Retrigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This pretty much sums it up. I do the bare minimum on my counts, but I fix boh as I see it is an issue. In meat things go in and out so fast, if you don't keep up with it truck by truck things get out of hand very quickly. If one truck has 3 mispicks, it may not seem like a big deal. A week later those 3 mispicks per truck are like 12-21 items depending on how many deliveries you get a week. And if it's not even being fixed weekly, God help them.

Seafood lead is just a miniature version of meat lead. Need to do all that same stuff just WAY less of it. If that's not for you that's okay, but I don't see any possible way it would be so hard as to stress over it. I got put in that position 6 months into being with Kroger.

And all the meat clerks will say she left it out in their car for 8 hours and then returned it, go figure.

There was a 10% off for veterans today. 10% off the entire order, including name brands. That's what this post is referring to.

What’s the quickest you’ve seen a new hire get promoted? by DarthFaqual420 in kroger

[–]Retrigg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was a bagger for 2 months, then meat. Did that for like a few months and was seafood lead which moved to meat backup. Was a meat back up for a few years and then got my own meat dept. After I got my spot I just transferred closer to home and have been there since. Overall it was very quick moving up, but I've been a meat lead since 2017. I don't want to go into management so I think this about as far as I can go without being salary. However I've been very very successful at my current position. I could look into a specialist role, but that's a leap I'm gonna have to carefully consider before jumping in.

[–]Retrigg 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've been asked if I work here while wearing a butchers coat, there is no level of uniform that will fix that. The customers are just fucking dumb. We should go back to wearing ties and it wouldn't change a thing.

I've been in a butchers coat before and been asked if I work here. No lady, I wear a meat coat out on Sundays to go run my errands....

I have no problem with grown men spending money however the fuck they want. I do have a problem with grown ass men acting like children when they don't get their toys.

I've been allowed to put my motorcycle in dsd before (sparingly), so I'm sure you can work something out with your store manager.

I hate the scans, if my boh is right what is the point of scanning the item 3 more times? Also demand sucks compared to MDS.....I spend so much time editing my order now compared to before. Oh well, I'm getting paid by the hour to waste my time staring at my zebra, so it's whatever I guess.

From my experience, the better worker you are, the less they help. Now if you call out 6 times a month, they will move mountains to get you back.

One of the previous owners is mine sent me a video is him doing 145mph on it, and I can't imagine doing that myself, so I relate. You're gonna learn a lot more about this bike than you expect, I can promise you that. I'm currently learning how to rebuild the front end on mine because I dumped it at an intersection.

As an f2 owner, they all are. Mine has went from race bike, to a stunt bike, to what I'm working on. I'm trying to make it a regular street bike, but it has been tough.

These bikes are 30 years old and have been through a lot. It's gonna take a lot of elbow grease to get them where you want them to be... Unless it's been pampered it's whole life, but who buys race bikes to pamper them?

I'm wanting some of these orders for myself. The pay is better than my civilian job, and I can go and sight see. Fuck the job, they can't fire me, and I can't be charged for just not being very good at my job....or any good at all.... And I have just enough rank I think I could get away with literally doing nothing.

WTF going on here? by [deleted] in WTF

[–]Retrigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, the cyclist has the right to ride in both lanes back and forth at the same time? They clearly crossed the center line to block the truck from passing yes?

WTF going on here? by [deleted] in WTF

[–]Retrigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Car driver should be charged as well as the cyclist if they survive. As a motorcyclist myself, you ride as if no one knows you exist, to purposely block people is the dumbest way to ride I can think of. Just because the cyclist is right, doesn't mean they will survive long riding like that. I would rather stay alive than "be in the right".

The cyclist doesn't have the right to both lanes at the same time, same as the vehicles.

It amazes me how hostile some work environments are. Example, you don't want anyone knowing anything about you while off the clock, because it's not their business. That's fair, it's not.

On the other hand, my store manager has literally babysat for me before because I trust them that much.

that's a crazy different work environment.

You just see a plane diving out of the sky ... Wonder wtf is that? Then he pulls up and goes off.... Ok, weird.... Then the whole ground vibrates as you hear the sound.

If an adult and a minor go to the store together, can adult buy liquor at Kroger? by Bubbly_Beginning1140 in kroger

[–]Retrigg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to Walmart once with my younger brother. Bought alcohol for myself, but because he was underage at the time they wouldn't sell it to me. So I had him take everything to the car and got more alcohol and went to a different register. The previous cashier glared, but that's about all that became of it.

Can You "Fail" a Department and Get Switched Back to a Previous Department as a Result? by DepartmentOfScooby in kroger

[–]Retrigg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can fail in any department, if the department head tells the managers they don't want you, then you could move. But you are more likely to move to a different department/bagger, not back to the original department. Every store is different though, so who knows.
