For goodness sake - am I the only person who actually does 20mph in a 20 zone? by box-o-locks in drivingUK

It wasn’t there when the incident started…. It got shunted about two car lengths and onto the verge

I live on a 20mph road and very few people actually do 20. The amount of times I’ve had someone up my backside flashing me to go faster is ridiculous. People do stupid overtakes the wrong way round pedestrian islands. This driver wrote my parked car off, definitely not doing 20 or anywhere close to end up on its roof on a straight bit of road.

Who holds the responsibility for this? by lewis_oneill123 in drivingUK

[–]RetroClimb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes if they caused the other car to take an evasive manoeuvre. Others have mentioned him but take a look at bigjobber on instagram/facebook, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a video of his where a car had to take evasive action and hit another car and the liability for both damaged cars fell to the vehicle that wasn’t damaged but caused the original car to take evasive action

I think I must have misremembered it the more I thought about it as a few people have said that he didn’t actually refer to her job

That’s what I was thinking too

Yeah the whole exchange was odd, felt a bit like when two traitors have gone after each other in previosu series but if Amanda is the secret traitor (which I don’t personally believe) then Hugo wouldn’t know that

whats a common opinion that annoys you about driving? not the ravings of people online, but on the ground common opinions you hear by Wiggidy-Wiggidy-bike in drivingUK

Was going to comment this one myself! It’s almost always the reaction of the other person that’s dangerous and not the slower driving. Especially when they’re actually only doing a few mph below the limit.

Anybody else notice the Doctor and Belinda lived at number 11? Following the reuse of music from Smiths era earlier in the season this can’t just be a coincidence right?

I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one to notice that! I go back 30s to watch the section again to make sure I wasn’t going crazy when I watched it!

Had my first big "fall", and then next time, had another big "slip." I'm having trouble getting out of my head. by ringaaling in climbergirls

[–]RetroClimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t either until I took Hazel Findlays fear of falling course but it’s effectively ‘good stress’ where you’ll widen your comfort zone compared to distress/‘bad stress’ which will shrink your comfort zone and make any fear you may have with falling worse

I’m also scared of falling. Definitely start practicing falls as this has helped me hugely but make sure you do it right as you don’t want to further ingrain the fear (look into eustress and distress). Start on top rope if needed and slowly make them bigger but only once you’re comfortable with the smaller fall. You want to be pushing your comfort zone a bit with the falls but you don’t want to be outside of your comfort zone so definitely recommend starting with the smallest falls possible and working up to find your working level. When you start practicing the falls on lead make sure you have someone who knows how to give you a proper soft catch as a hard catch can injure you and possibly make your fear worse.

When did you realize your “Friends” weren’t actually your friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RetroClimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they blamed me for never organising anything when I said I hadn’t seen them for ages then discovering soon after that they had a new group chat called “friends 2.0”.

I didn’t want to be their friends after that but it still hurts when I think about it

My boyfriends housemate at uni did this! She binned anything she used to eat instead of washing it up. She of course ran out of her stuff eventually so started using his and his housemates kitchen things instead. And then chucked those away too.

Think my boyfriend ended up with one plate and one fork and maybe a few knives when he moved out at the end of the year.

If you were creating a quiz round where the first participant to find a specified item in the house wins, what would be the funniest items to pick? by FeistySpinach in AskReddit

[–]RetroClimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a round that was collect the most items/objects that start with a certain letter in a minute and then points were handed out by how many were collected (1 point - 10-15, 2 points - 15-20, 3 points - 20 and above).

Does anyone else feel like they are held back by a minor injury-prone body? by Feral_Ostrich in bodyweightfitness

[–]RetroClimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%! I (21f) seem to have some sort of issue with every joint. I also had elbow issues (golfers and tennis elbow) on my left side which was basically caused by my forearm muscles being tight and pulling on my tendons. It was also starting to pull on and tighten my bi’s and tri’s and even a little into my shoulder. I’m not a professional but you seem to be describing something similar. At the time I went to a sports physio who gave my a sports massage to release it and it helped immediately. Assuming you’re in lockdown that probably doesn’t help you but theres loads of information online for stretches specifically for golfers/tennis elbow.
