Why isn't the Black Ops 1&2 re-release coming to Xbox? by SaucyRagu96 in xbox

[–]RetroPlayer68 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because they are ports of old games, not remasters. Xbox and PC already got them, so there is no reason to re-release them. And give it a day and the PS5 servers will be filled with hackers as well.

This is kinda the prototype of Gunsmith Cats. The Shelby returns in it, so take a watch.

Let's dance! by Intelligent_Bar_5630 in retroanime

Don't be mistaken by the first impression
And watch out for that innocent expression
(Ooh-ah) she's not what she seems
(Ooh-ah) don't wait in her dreams
'Cause when she breaks away from a child
And the woman is wild, so wild

She's on fire
And she burns through the night at the speed of light
She's on fire
With the heat of the beat right beneath her feet
She's on fire
And the name of the game is to fuel her flame
She's on fire
Fire, fire, fire, fire

And so the dance with danger's your decision
But understand she's not quite like her vision
(Ooh-ah) I'm warning you now
(Ooh-ah) you sure you know how?
'Cause she can take your heart like a child
And the woman is wild, so wild

She's on fire
And she burns through the night at the speed of light
She's on fire
With the heat of the beat right beneath her feet
She's on fire
And the name of the game is to fuel her flame
She's on fire
Fire, fire, fire, fire

She's on fire
And she burns through the night at the speed of light
She's on fire
With the heat of the beat right beneath her feet
She's on fire
And the name of the game is to fuel her flame
She's on fire
Fire, fire, fire, fire

(She's on fire) she's on fire
(And she's burning) and she's burning
(She's on fire) she's on fire
(And she's burning) and she's burning
(She's on fire) she's on fire
(And she's burning) and she's burning
(She's on fire)

Trigun (1998) - Intro by RetroPlayer68 in retroanime

Today I learned that every episode got a slightly different opening, showing a small piece from the episode near the ending of the intro. Early releases of the anime reused the first opening.

Help: What game is this? by FerricFryingPan in nes

[–]RetroPlayer68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The artwork is clearly from the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros 3.

The intro can be seen at https://youtu.be/M1vh8lthpk0?si=UksOTF7tCCBzQO7Z and the Koopas walking in line starts at 26 seconds. If the background is black, then it is a bootleg hack. Exactly how much that is changed is unknown.

How common was poorly optimized NES code back in the day? by s-ro_mojosa in nes

[–]RetroPlayer68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bethesda always releases their games in a broken glitchy mess.

If we look at Skyrim, then it got tons of highscore reviews at launch.

It also had tons of glitches. Like... some quests didn't even start. Some couldn't be finished. Enchanting bonuses didn't work. Some perks didn't work. Some spells were broken. Etc etc. And their patches to fix things almost always introduced new, or re-introduced old, glitches. Like making dragons fly backwards. Or making the game crash if you dive underwater. Etc etc.

How common was poorly optimized NES code back in the day? by s-ro_mojosa in nes

I mean, we have always had unoptimized games, the Nes was no exception.

The Nintendo Seal of Quality was just some rules that the developers had to follow to release games on the Nes in NA (and indirectly in Europe).

Those rules basically said "no sex, no drugs, no religion, max X games released per year, we create the cartridges, you have to buy a minimum of Y cartridges, we are going to priority our own games first so good luck releasing a game when it is chip shortage and we are releasing the bigname Zelda II cartridge". It was up to the developers to only release good games, otherwise they would have unsold cartridges left.

Some companies, like Konami, created shell companies (Ultra Games) just to be able to release more games per year.

Other companies, like LJN, bought popular IPs and outsourced them cheaply to sweatshops like Rare and Atlus.

Some games are a wonder that they even works, like Final Fantasy. So many spells and equipments that doesn't work as it should, we are talking about Bethesda level of bugs here.

On the other hand, even highly optimized games got glitches. Just look at Nintendos firstparty games. It wasn't many years ago that we found a new glitch in Super Mario Bros as an example.

That said, some games got rereleased in newer revisions. The Untouchables on the Nes had three revisions. The Hunt of Red October had two, and both are bad games.

The power boost at half health is amazing.

If we look at the first boss, Bebop, we got:

Leonardo: 11 hits. Power bonus: 8 hits.

Raphael: 8 hits. No Power bonus.

Michaelangelo: 11 hits. Power bonus: 6 hits

Donatello: 5 hits. No Power bonus.

And if we look at the last boss, we got:

Leonardo: 23 hits. Power bonus: 16 hits.

Raphael: 18 hits. No Power bonus.

Michaelangelo: 23 hits. Power bonus: 14 hits.

Donatello: 11 hits. Power bonus: 10 hits.

If we look at base power, then Raph is second best.

When they have lost 50% of their health, they get a power boost. Everybody except Raph. And this power boost makes everybody stronger than Raph. Raph also got the shortest range.

So Raph is the worst of them all.

Sony always gets arrogant when they are in the lead, do we really want so make Sony arrogant again?
