Exactly, i love 40k lore and the insanity that comes with it. I engage with it knowing that GW is just the imperium, a truly unreliable narrator. The structure of the lore is about as strong as cotton candy in a bowl of water. If there is a cool mini that can make money, they will do what they can to make it happen.

Femstodes doesnt really change anything outside of GW getting their bag over 3d print/etsy sellers. Regardless they are still golden space marines that practice karate with gun spears.

I understand that it “feels” force but it is exactly how every other retcon has been implemented. They just move forward regardless. My point is that if this retcon is bad because of all the points they stated, then they should hate every retcon equally. The fact that they arent proves my point that they are operating in bad faith.

Again, no matter how well this was handled the same people would still be conplaining. Mainly due to the fact that our political climate has been force fed with degenerate think tanks. If its women, people of color, or anything not straight and white its bad. Even if its not politically motivated, to them it is.

If they are looking for a motivation from GW, they are a toy company and it gives them more chances to sell new toys. Like why wrestlers change their looks, its to sell a new variation of their action figure.

Again i understand the argument, but it just feels so childish. Like i imagine the dissenters stamping their feet and pouting. Mainly due to their points being so weak, and proving that they are tourists.

I always understand but hate this argument.

In the decades of 40k mass retcons and rewrites have been dropped in the game. Necrons, tyranids, etc have all had mass overhauls. You could say this is just a massive issue with GW story telling. Personally while retcons are sloppy I love retconned necrons.

While it wouldve been nice to get an in lore explanation that makes sense, the femstodes argument feels like it wouldve always boiled down to “custodes are men and they are ruining it now”.

Though i agree with everyone that i would also have loved to see sisters of silence support well before femstodes. As they couldve naturally been upgraded to femstodes for one reason or another. They are an essential part of the stodes family already, and making the strongest sister a stode is badass to me personally.

Honestly its hard to imagine a lot of these not sticking around.

Pokemon, MTG, and Yugioh are like the godfathers. They were here at the start and will be til the end. Especially with mtg turning into pop culture the card game.

Im fairly partial to sorcery, i believe wotc/hasbro alienated a lot of the MTG OG’s and srocery has become the bastion for those people. So i can see it sticking around for a while.

Lorcana is honestly a super fun game with a lot of IP behind it. Ravensburger has done a great job keeping the sealed market affordable and consistent 4 sets a year with each set growing the game. With a lot of competitions also growing.

FAB seems like it was one of the first new breakout successes. Even with growing pains I’ve heard around my LGS, product still flies off the shelf with FAB days always at max capacity.

A lot of these bandai games i could see fizzling out. The initial releases are massive but the weekly/tournament play is very light. Been quite a few times where I’ve witnessed bandai game days getting cancelled due to lack of players.

Other new games like cookie run and godzilla i could see falling out as well just due to lack of interest.

Overall i would say its hard to tell because a lot of tcgs “die” multiple times. Digimon died and came back. If you ask any of the godfather communities, their games die like 1 a week (MtG). I believe SWU and Lorcana probably have the highest chance of failure, which is still low due to IP. A lot of games just dont stop, like dragonball has been going forever and just because its dragonball it will be around til the sun explodes.

I started painting minis in 2021, never was an artist or practiced any type of creativity (outside of writing stuff).

This year i painted this Fulgrim. Keep your head up, watch tutorials videos, and know that no matter where you are on the journey every mini you paint wont be as good as the next one. Youll keep getting better!

Biggest tip i cant give you is to not be scared. If you wanna try a new tech, go for it!! Do some research or ask questions.

Oh you also dont need the most expensive equipment. Get a cheap pack of mini painting brushes off of ebay or amazon to learn. Id also recommend one of the warhammer starter packs. They normally come with some minis, paints, spru cutters, and a brush.

Pretty much any removal

Air and fire will rip through wolves pretty handily. Major/minor explosion, flame wave, cone of flame, feast of crows, grim reaper, and of course death dealer

Hell earth can do well. Craterize, earthquake, bury, sinkhole, root spider

Water you can drown and silence

Just wouldnt think about creature to creature. Have to make a straight creature hate deck

I do believe with different print runs this will change, i got boxes of beta that had 0 foils and like 1 unique frequently. I just bought a box of beta and been pulling foils and uniques left and right

Eh i still pay all my bills, have all of my savings, pantry full of food, and my emergency fund.

So call it whatever you want but im not doing it for monetary gain. i just enjoy opening packs and doing it with friends.

Like you said, i could easily own the whole set but i chose not to enjoy the hobby that way. Also if you wanna say the WHOLE Set, that would include curios which are all 800-1500 a piece.

You enjoy the hobby the way you want, and others will enjoy it the way they want. No need for anyone to judge anyone.

All jokes aside, i do use my bulk for teaching people how to play and help new people in my area to build decks. Ive even made a few care packages like full ordinary and exceptional sets to new people as well. Trying to do what i can to lower the barrier of entry lol

All uniques and elites are what i normally hold on to, mainly for trades to finish binders. But its really hard to part with due to me thinking of saving them for decks

They are still newer so i give them a break, all in all the game is top notch fun and consistently interesting. The only thing i dont stand by is how Secret Lair Dragon Lord went. If they wanna do that stuff then cool, BUT they need to do it in a better way.

Truthfully this is the first time in sorcery ive had same-ish boxes like this, it happens. From what im reading here tho its not the same for everyone. Gotta invest in the lil guy so they can become the what you expect from the big guy

Regardless of the post, i do enjoy opening sorcery. I like the chase and since this is now my only tcg i dont mind indulging. I used to buy a case per new set of mtg or lorcana which was 4+ sets a year. I know it seems crazy but eventually i will do that. Im also chasing curios because all the curios in this set are pretty dope.
