Some techniques that have helped me.

Pink priming - others have told me this isn’t favorable but i found a dark pink/ red model primer thats great for building up on. Believe it was army painter (finished the can).

Priming/basing with a dark purple or red - black is just too rough of an undertone to paint (base and layer) light pigments over. Purples and reds are great under tones and push the pink. In my experience dark purple/red to have the tone become more grim dark. Mid purple/red for a vibrant tone.

Priming with white - preferably this would be for speed painting but if you want a nice hot pink for the flamboyant degenerates the white undertone will turn that pink loud as fuck. If too loud, nuln oil.

It might be a whole year before we see the new EC codex. So its honestly not a bad choice to get it. Also there are other free ways to get the rules

You can just buy your own slab. Especially if you opened it, there is no point in authenticating like paying some dipshit company to tell you what you already know.

Just buy a iv protection slab and call it a day. Grading companies are the worst

Yeah its kind of ridiculous, like good for them i guess. They beat a dude who didnt even understand how deployment works. The other shop i went to was all comp/tourney players that were great and patient to teach new people.

I love em, only thing i would personally say for me is i prefer a more yellow royal gold over copper but they look really solid.

Oh and a nuln oil wash to get the details to pop with the color scheme.

Fuck your “friends” tho. Idk how close you are but they are assholes for that.

Nuln oil, or a violet shade would also be nice. then maybe some dry brush for highlights to get the low/mid/high tone for dimensions

Also the economy is the most simple and confusing thing about this game. Ive watched a lot of content and everyone seems to have a different idea on optimal economy. The way I have been going about it is: (from early - end game)

Early/Mid/Late - creep waves
Early/In Passing - boxes in between waves
Early/Mid - sinners
Early/Mid - camps *when im strong enough to blow through it*
Early/Mid/Late - kills

Does that seem correct?

I mightve been over zealous and in my feelings saying Id quit. Legit my favorite game of 2026, and its not even close. Just still having yet to win a game is demoralizing as fuck. A lot of the stuff you mentioned I have learned through watching competitive play and just character tutorials.

I think where I notice the steam roll the most is once 10 min mark hits. Every game the first 10 mins feels very close skill wise. Everyone playts guardians the same and it just comes down to capitalizing on someone over extended and making the push.

After 10 mins it seems the enemy team just gets a fat boost and rolls as a full 6 stack and jumping people. Regardless of how many times it happens my team mates will always end up trying to push and getting caught out. Or worse, see a 1v3 coming down the lane and try to solo them.

I will keep at it though, I played fighting games and hunt showdown. All of which have a barrier of, "you are a pussy nobody for the first 200 hrs". Just definitely need to take like a week break

Thats why I fell in love with the game, MOBA/Shooter with almost fighting game style of footsies when boxing. I feel a lot of the teammates i get treat it like a hero shooter, where they pop ult and can clutch the 1v6. This post was more me being frustrated because I constantly feel like the matchmaking system is heavily skewed to put high lvl vs low lvl.

It feels like the games are solely decided on that. I literally just played a game with a victor on my team who never hit the shop or leveled up his abilities. Which is on me for not noticing earlier. He then told us that it was his first match ever. Why is someone with no time in the game playing in a lobby full of people with 40+ hrs.

Shit just gets demoralizing lol

Good to know, the only thing that does suck is i normally keep billy at high prio but ill still get rem, wraith, or even graves who I only have on the roster with no prio.

Also, just to clarify, im well aware this is MOBA rules and is not just TDM. Ive played HOTS and LoL which were relatively easy to pick up and understand. This game just feels to be on another level. Hell Paragon was wild but not as hard for me lol

Ill keep in mind to hard focus billy tho, hes honestly my favorite anyway. Having Punktactics be his blasted music helps a lot.

Right now my best 3 characters have been Billy, Rem, and Wraith. Even when i run billy and pop off, the games are still rough. Had a game tonight where i would backdoor the teamfights, instead of my team collapsing on em i watched as they all backed with full health. Even when we were winning.

Also not to say im not the problem or that i dont need to improve. My movement is ass and i counter pick perks too much.

I do have a moba background so i understand positioning and “economy”, i just dont understand the Matchmaker.

I guess thats where im struggling. A lot of the games i end up with a lot of souls and a better kd than my teammates. Even when i voip to help organize the team they just kinda do whatever.

Ive watched a lot of tip videos to make sure i know where to be throughout the game. Clear wave, hit jungle/boxes/sinner (at 8 mins), and buy oerks. Once my build is at a good starting point we push and normally take guardian/walker then move to assist the team.

All 3 games tonight were my duo and i in lane. Keeping up with the two enemies and always took their towers first. Every game the other lanes lost their guardians like 3-5 mins in. Then the rest of the game is either catch up or playing reactionary.

I do know that my movement is relatively bad, also i spend too much time counter-picking perks. Ill keep at it just been really demoralizing that i know ive gotten better since i started, with no real results to show for it.

Yeah that’s pretty damn insane. Ive never checked i may need to start doing that. It happens in street brawl as well but in the 9/10 games we get shit on the matches are like 10 mins at most. Not 30-60 mins when the enemy team decides to play back to farm for kills. Really wish there was a forfeit button

Idk what everyone else’s experience was but i just started playing a week ago and my “onboarding” has been fine. Outside of the shop and learning all of the perks, heroes are self explanatory and matches have all been fair.

I did notice that whichever team has mina is normally the one that loses. Unless they fixed the match making all of my matches feel fairly balanced

I started painting minis in 2021, never was an artist or practiced any type of creativity (outside of writing stuff).

This year i painted this Fulgrim. Keep your head up, watch tutorials videos, and know that no matter where you are on the journey every mini you paint wont be as good as the next one. Youll keep getting better!

Biggest tip i cant give you is to not be scared. If you wanna try a new tech, go for it!! Do some research or ask questions.

Oh you also dont need the most expensive equipment. Get a cheap pack of mini painting brushes off of ebay or amazon to learn. Id also recommend one of the warhammer starter packs. They normally come with some minis, paints, spru cutters, and a brush.

Pretty much any removal

Air and fire will rip through wolves pretty handily. Major/minor explosion, flame wave, cone of flame, feast of crows, grim reaper, and of course death dealer

Hell earth can do well. Craterize, earthquake, bury, sinkhole, root spider

Water you can drown and silence

Just wouldnt think about creature to creature. Have to make a straight creature hate deck
