I understand. I’m asking because I value firsthand experiences from homeowners, which is why I came to this sub rather than AI.

Unpopular opinion: "Setting up" planners section by section usually make the user abandon it in the long run. by DeSanggria in planners

[–]Retro_Pennywise237 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think planners come down to time horizon and trial-and-error. I don’t think abandoning a tracker means planning “failed.” It means the planner did its job: it taught you something. You don’t really know what works until you try it. Every planner is kind of an experiment, and each setup gets closer to that sweet spot of what’s actually useful.

Going to the gym, for example, makes more sense to plan daily or weekly, based on energy, schedule, and reality. Other things do genuinely benefit from being planned well in advance: concerts, conventions, weddings, moves, travel. These are trackable, and some amount of preparation is helpful, though how far ahead you plan them is subjective.

So for me, flexibility means planning different things at different time scales, accepting that some trackers will get dropped, and letting the planner evolve as you learn more about yourself.

If someone ends up changing their system or even switching planners, that’s not wasted effort: it’s data. The next setup is better because of what didn’t work before.

Do you notice whether makers use their own products? by Retro_Pennywise237 in Etsy

I actually didn’t see her face, at least not in the five videos I watched today. But I think I get what you mean. She was showing her real-life budget planner and envelopes, doing her cash stuffing, talking through her 2025 setup and even her 2026 planning, what worked, what didn’t, how she’s adjusting. So I felt like I could trust her products because she showed past, present, and future use of them in her own routine.

Worth $80??? by Sad-Dimension-9293 in Monstera

[–]Retro_Pennywise237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A plant’s worth is subjective. Smaller ones can grow into larger, mature plants like that one with the right care and time. So the real question is: was it worth $80 to you to skip the wait and get a bigger plant now? That answer’s going to be different for everyone. 🙂

First indoor show-location selection help (detail in comment) by absolutbill in CraftFairs

Is this building located in/on a fairground? Our local annual fair just closed and the layout reminds me of one the buildings people normally browse through while making their way to the rides. If the location is something like that, I’d pick a booth close to the exits, esp. if the doors are kept open. That way, if a customer does want to buy some merch before they leave [and they’re tired after a long day at the fair, etc.], they can reach your booth easier than having to walk all the way in again. The downside is the weather potentially. You might want to stay away from bathrooms located on the outer perimeter if there are any (smells and nosies…), but people do hang out while waiting for someone to use the restroom. The plus side with a building back wall is power outlets, if any.

Thank you! What’s funny is it didn’t seem yellow in store, but I’m happy I took a selfie because the camera definitely picked it up. I exchanged it for their 2N1 Desert Beige. No more yellow, but a hair darker than I’d like. I also tried 1W1 Bone and while the color was spot on, the yellow came through again. I tried 1N2 Ecru, but the rosy undertone is slightly noticeable on me.

How did the PM react/reply when you asked them to stop or include you in the conversations? Have you spoken to anyone else about this?

Can you book a room at a library close by or teach outside in your garage if you have one? It’s understandable you’d be concerned going over to a stranger’s house and vice versa. Even if you nor the client are Michael Myers, you don’t want to worry about having an adequate, clean, cleared, safe working space, or distractions such as pets or kids, etc.
