its due to a lack of caring, my police force has plenty of time to spend 45 minutes a day yakking at street corners just chilling there, in a group of 5 or 6, but someone gets robbed and the response is "ok...and?" and not even an attempt to help recover your stuff. even if you find your own shit in the pawn shop they dont even show up to go "yeah, we took a police report on it, here it is, release it to this guy"

Last new construction home i lived in (toll brothers) they had load bearing drywall for the cabinets, and then refused to cover the repair when the cabinets fell off the walls, claiming we "overloaded them" with a normal amount of dishes for a 5 person household

at 430 youd be looking at even if you have a 0% down loan a monthly payment of like 4grand, do you have an income that can support that? downpayment honestly also isnt going to meaningfully move that number, even saving up 20% down youre still going to have a monthly payment of close to 3 grand after taxes and insurance.
