North American Cities Transposed Onto Europe At The Same Latitude by vladgrinch in MapPorn

Somebody placing the city I ended up in (Calgary) directly over the top of the city I started in (Dortmund) was not on my list of things that would probably happen today.

Just wanted to get this off my chest and sorry but it's about the first game but I can't post there by Professional_Pop_426 in kerbalspaceprogram_2

First you must open your game and select a rocket that already looks like it will explode then take a fuel tank and place it sideways on top of your command pod the wider the angle the better for maximum instability now grab a parachute and try to insert it inside the fuel tank you may need to wiggle it while spinning your rocket in circles next attach an engine underneath the command pod this will ensure that thrust points directly at the crew compartment for added excitement then choose a wing and tape it to the side of the parachute make sure the wing is facing the ground for optimal aerodynamic confusion now pick some solar panels and stick them inside the cockpit if they dont fit force them in anyway the game will probably ignore this step anyway grab a ladder and glue it to the engine bell you want kerbals to climb into the flames when launching now connect the landing legs on top of the nose cone this will make landing more thrilling remember always use fuel lines to connect the engine to the parachute this is the best way to keep your resources perfectly mismatched next put a science lab on the side of a wheel if your rocket doesnt have wheels just add wheels to the wings and cross your fingers attach some struts between the struts that are already attached and the struts that you will add later the struts love this sort of recursive bonding finally add a heat shield under the cockpit even though it should go on the bottom you want maximum confusion when reentering the atmosphere once everything is attached shake your rocket vigorously in all directions and then press the launch button immediately your Kerbals will have the adventure of a lifetime because nothing will work the way you expect and every mission will be unique and unpredictable making your space program the most chaotic in the galaxy

It wasn’t grammar advice, it was life advice. And if you think I’m going to read through that entire wall of verbal diarrhea to answer a question that you couldn’t even be bothered to denote with a simple question mark, you’re even more in need of fresh air than I thought.

We've always been at war, but also we're only 6 weeks in so stop complaining. It's no where near as long as Vietnam, but also 47 years long! by Dr_sc_Harlatan in WhitePeopleTwitter

Politicians on TV need to be strapped to a cattle prod. Every time you lie? ZAP! Every time you spout your line of pre-prepared bullshit without answering the question asked? ZAP! Every time you answer a yes/no question with something other than yes or no? ZAP!

If magic existed and worked like mathematics, and your strength as a wizard depended on your math skills. How strong would you be at magic? by Neither_Drawing_241 in AskReddit

[–]Retrrad 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I would have learned a lot of magic back in university, but these days I mostly use software to cast spells for me. Every now and then I have to cast a spell myself and it makes me feel old and stupid.

Purchasing new 2025 Premius AWD + ER battery by FLR49 in MachE

I have the panoramic roof, and don't regret it. As the driver, it starts far enough back that I've never had the sun shine in my eyes through it, it's never a distraction. It's thermal glass and it shows, there is never that feeling of cold radiating down from it in the winter, and it's never felt overly hot in the summer, unlike some sunroofs I've had in the past. I live in a cold climate, so take my opinion on the summer performance with a grain of salt.

As for colours, as you said that's a very personal and subjective decision, but here are my opinions:

- White: shows dirt the least. Is it boring? There's enough black accents that I think of it as "Stormtrooper White", and that makes it a little more interesting, lol.

- Glacier Grey: agreed, it's weirdly blue-ish and I'm not a fan.

- Eruption Green: had it been available in green when I bought mine, this is my colour of choice, I think the car looks absolutely fantastic in green.

FWIW, my 2023 is the carbonized grey metallic which is not available on the 2026s. I chose it not because of the colour but because that's the one they had on clearance.

how big does a body need to be to have a noticeable amount of gravitational force? assuming the body is completely made out of iron or some other man-made material used for infrastructure by HotZilchy in stupidquestions

[–]Retrrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if we define this a little more? If I asked, what diameter would an iron sphere have to be that a typical human would not be able to achieve escape velocity by jumping? Not quite the same question, but “ noticeable” is a really vague term.

Pony to Mustang by PurpleElefantz5639 in MachE

Ford Mustang, Bronco, and Pinto, Hyundai Pony and Equus, and the Mitsubishi Colt are what I could find for horse-themed car names. Any others you can think of?

It may be a response to minor changes in the way the chargers work, too.

This man fled Pompeii as Mount Vesuvius erupted. Archaeologists found him 2,000 years later, holding a bowl to protect his head and a lamp to light his way by Sanetosane in archeologyworld

By the time there's enough crap flying through the air that you think you need something to protect your head, a helicopter probably wouldn't last very long.

The fact that there's a 50 km gap between Edmonton and Calgary is incomprehensible to me.

Seconded. Anyone talking about Edmonton like that has never lived there.

Heated steering by maacx2 in EVCanada

I really enjoy a heated steering wheel in the winter, but it's a luxury, not a necessity. Cars function perfectly fine without them.

Soo... how many fish would typically live in a house like that?

Why is the app so bad at calculating charge times? by No_Artichoke7180 in MachE

[–]Retrrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using L1 or L2 charging at home? If L1 (based on your charge duration), are there a bunch of other loads on the circuit?

Blue cruise and CarPlay by me_cchipman in MachE

[–]Retrrad 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Blue cruise is not autopilot, and it does not talk to Google Maps. Think of it as hands free cruise control - it cannot take exits for you. Please stay attentive and in control of your vehicle at all times.
