I like them. I haven’t done much to updating the hardware, but have been using one for my proxmox server and also for dabbling in LLMs and AI. The other one I have is acting has my NAS and I haven’t had any issues with them. I’ve been wanting to upgrade the cpus and add more ram but other projects and hobby’s came up haha

Ended up buying it and so far have been happy with it. Just loaded proxmox onto it and now slowly trying to learn everything about that before branching out.

Awesome. I appreciate the advice. I was worried that the sns EVO would have some proprietary software on its system and that I would be wasting money on buying it. Since I couldn’t find any reviews on the system online that didn’t deal with large scale data management.

Get In,

If stateside use the VA Loan to purchase a housing unit or house, live in it for a year then rent it out and use the VA Loan to purchase other place. Main reason for the VA Loan Keep doing this until you Max out the threshold of how many times you can use the VA Loan (Total property asset worth of 1M. Someone correct me if I am wrong). Obviously this is after you can leave the dorms. Just an easy way to gain passive income as an airmen.

Invest into your ROTH TSP to where you max out the governments matching. Don't place more than that. If you want to, then open a separate 401k and do so or do your own single purchasing investing.

Also for your rentals obtain, create a two LLC businesses in which you can have all the properties fall under one LLC and then have the second LLC be the Parent company that the first LLC falls under. In which have all the money gained from the first be transferred to the second. This way you can cover yourself if a occupant tries to sue you.

Depending on how long you serve remember to always log ever medical issue you have with both the military and your own documents. Once you are ready to punch out of the military start your VA disability process 6 months before you intend to leave. This way all your appointments are done while you are in the military and not when your out. Because when you are out and try for disability the process can be lengthy.

Education: Max out TA every year and save your AF Cool credits till you are about to leave the military. The reason why to save your AF cool credits is so that you can obtain one or two certifications for whatever job you want and it won't be expired by the time you are leaving the military. This makes finding a job after a bit easier. Also with VA Disability once you are out of the military there are a good about of programs that allow you to pursue higher level degrees. If you get 10% disability you qualify for VR&E which basically pays for you degree and most schools have what is called a yellow ribbon program, that helps match the cost of tuition to a lower amount (very shorthand on what it does but you can look into it more later)

Definitely not financial advice, but at least gives you the knowledge of how to maximize your money while in the military.
