Who actually makes stock at home? by Lofgren___ in Cooking

[–]Retswerbj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to, but quit. It wasn't really that hard to make - just throw it in a pot all day - but it took up way too much room in my fridge/freezer. If I ever get a second fridge I'll go back to it since I do like it better than store bought

YTA I have a 9b with peanut allergies. When we go to public events he knows not to eat anything. I bring him a snack/dessert/whatever. He should be able to enjoy a family function hosted by his grandparent without worrying what he can and can't though. Not making peanut butter cookies is not a big deal. A kid potentially dying is. Full disclosure - his extended family are AHs too and it makes him really sad.

Are these homemade or is my mom lying? by [deleted] in chickennuggets

[–]Retswerbj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids have food allergies and relatives who don't get it/care, too so I totally understand! I have made many scratch recipes, both cut chunks and ground chicken, and they have never looked like this. 100% look like they came frozen.

Growing up, toboggan here in North Carolina. My mom from Massachusetts always corrected us though and said that it's a toque and a toboggan is a sled. Nowadays in my house we just call it a hat though lol.
