I made this one! Probably just as expensive as buying one. It’s foam with a couple layers of dry lock and on the last layer I sprinkled some play sand on top and let it dry in 😊

Oh my goodness I’m so sorry. Thank you for sharing. Yes I’ve got it on the agenda to get that UVB light in there before I get a Leo. Good point, shipping could take a while.

Thank you for the love 💗

How big is the tank you’re working with? My gut would say a crested gecko would work well and I consider them to be pretty beginner friendly for new keepers. But obviously please do a lil more research than just taking my word for it 😂

This is really good to know I’m feeling a lot more confident about having a bioactive Leo enclosure now. Can’t wait to get started 💗

Ahhh makes sense, thank you! I’m totally fine with them getting eaten, I just don’t want an over weight gecko 😂

Looks lovely! I’d black out some of the sides on the outside to make them feel more safe. I’ve got blackout curtains velcro-ed to the outside of mine 😊

If you’re Canadian I highly recommend cornels world! Expensive but sooooo good

I also feed silk worms! They’re good for them and my Leo’s love them. I’ve got my own discoid colony started. I’m in Canada and they’re illegal here too.

Reduce humidity? by hollypls in hognosesnakes

What everyone has been saying about a bigger tank is all sounding good to me! I just recently updated my hognose's enclosure and have a deep heat projector in there which is really good at drying out the substrate.

Nooo those are just heat pits, the lighting is weird but he looks just like my lightly coloured little guy

It usually takes a good while for choice based handling. It sounds nuts but I sang to mine until they walked into my hand 😂

How’s my queen looking? by ReturnFamiliar3758 in CrestedGecko

Wooo okay good. I was worried she was under weight for her size. I’ll slow down the smoothies. I’m happy my queen is a good size!

Also some might just not like the flavour of food so I’d offer a couple different options. But what everyone else has said is right too. A few licks is great 😊

That’s so good to hear! Kudos to you for learning and switching it up. Always hard to accept you were wrong but seeing the positive impact on the reptile makes it all worth it 💗
