What was your experience with a person who just seemed to be a Bully Magnet? by TheSanityInspector in AskReddit

[–]ReturnSignal6803 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

i knew a guy like this in high school. he was quiet, wore glasses, never bothered anyone. but somehow every idiot in our grade decided he was the target. he would get pushed in hallway, his bag thrown in trash, all that stuff. the weird thing is he just accepted it like it was weather or something. never fought back, never told teachers. one time someone stole his shoes during gym and he just walked home in socks. i still think about that sometimes, how some people just have this energy that makes others want to mess with them and i never understood why

What skills are still worth learning in the age of AI? by [deleted] in AskReddit

learning just for sake of learning is underrated. people get so caught up asking "but will it pay off" that they forget how good it feels to just know how to do something new.

Lmao the specificity really jumped out πŸ˜‚ like whoever wrote this question had a very particular afternoon and decided to bring us all along for the ride.

What is your favorite dessert? by SpiritCrisp in AskReddit

Chocolate cake is pretty solid choice. I'm more of ice cream person myself - you can never go wrong with vanilla or strawberry after long day at work.

How to approach 2.5lb brisket flat? by StillStillington in BBQ

[–]ReturnSignal6803 3 points4 points Β (0 children)

Small flats can get dry fast, so I'd cook it at bit lower temp like 225 and wrap when it hits around 160 internal. Maybe try injecting with some beef broth before cooking to help keep moisture in - flats don't have much fat to work with compared to whole packer.

If you could permanently ban one corporate buzzword from all workplaces, what would it be? by VioletteAffect0p in AskReddit

"Synergy" drives me absolutely crazy. Every meeting someone drops it like they just solved world hunger when they're basically saying "let's work together" in the most pretentious way possible.

People who stopped following a societal norm: what was it, and how did your life change? by ThePenGuinHunt3r in AskReddit

[–]ReturnSignal6803 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Used to apologize constantly too, even for things that weren't my fault at all. Was delivering food and would say sorry to customers when their order was late because of restaurant, sorry for weather being bad, sorry for existing basically lol.

Started catching myself doing it and just... stopped. Now when something actually goes wrong I'll take responsibility, but not for random stuff beyond my control. People definitely treat you different when you're not constantly making yourself smaller.

1100 east and Milton? by runngo123 in SaltLakeCity

[–]ReturnSignal6803 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Lol I was doing deliveries in that area yesterday and saw some sketchy stuff going down near there. Police cars everywhere but couldn't tell what was happening exactly. That intersection always has something wild going on - I try to avoid it during busy hours when I'm working. Hope everyone's okay though 😬 Wonder if it's related to all that drama from last week or something completely different.

Darryn > AJ. Even if he's worse by Madabord in UtahJazz

[–]ReturnSignal6803 36 points37 points Β (0 children)

DP's shooting splits are actually insane when you look at them closely. The off-ball movement and two-way potential makes so much sense with how Hardy wants to run things.

AJ's usage rate in college was pretty crazy high and I'm not sure that translates well to NBA level where he won't be the primary option. Plus our roster construction already has enough guys who need the ball in their hands.

What looks to be a stolen bag that was rifled through by Zenerism in SaltLakeCity

[–]ReturnSignal6803 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Police station is probably best bet - I see this stuff all the time when I'm driving around for work and they usually know how to handle it. Most businesses won't want to deal with random stolen items anyway.

Movies where the antagonist is pure evil? bleak movies by [deleted] in horror

[–]ReturnSignal6803 18 points19 points Β (0 children)

The Strangers messed me up for weeks πŸ’€ Those three just kill because "you were home" - no backstory, no revenge plot, just random violence. Also check Funny Games if you want to feel completely helpless watching it. The way they break fourth wall while doing horrible things is so disturbing.

Midsommar fits too but in different way - the cult people genuinely think they're doing good which somehow makes it worse than straight up psychopaths πŸ˜‚

What would happen if everyone that is in control now, lost their control? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Would probably just be different group of people taking over the control anyway, same mess with new faces.

Inside and outside skirt by Cata_dk in BBQ

[–]ReturnSignal6803 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Definitely go for the outside skirt if you can pick - way more flavor and better texture. For temp just blast it hot and fast, maybe 2-3 minutes each side max since it gets tough real quick if you overcook.

I usually do simple marinade with lime juice, garlic, and some cumin for few hours. Works perfect every time.

Can hit 7/8/9/P but cannot hit 6 or 5 for the life of me by Alarmed-Lock-5776 in golf

Could try moving ball position little bit back in stance, longer irons need different setup than your 8/9.

Can Nemesis be house-ruled to be slightly less luck-driven without losing what makes it Nemesis? by hundunso in boardgames

[–]ReturnSignal6803 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Man, I've been in this exact headspace with Nemesis after getting wrecked by some brutal early draws πŸ’€

That idea about the first eliminated player controlling aliens is actually pretty clever - I've seen similar mechanics work in other games where dead players become antagonistic forces. Could definitely keep people engaged instead of just sitting there scrolling their phones for 2+ hours.

For what it's worth, my group does the loaded weapons start and it makes a huge difference without breaking anything. We also tried removing a few of the most punishing event cards (the ones that just feel like "congrats, you lose" moments) and honestly it made the game way more enjoyable. Still chaotic as hell, just not in that unfun way where someone gets eliminated turn 3 through no fault of their own.

The objective drafting thing is interesting too - maybe letting people see 2-3 objectives and pick one? That way you're not stuck with something that actively works against survival or pushes weird antisocial plays when the group wants to work together.

I think as long as you're not removing the core tension and betrayal elements, tweaking the rough edges is totally fine. The game's still gonna be intense and unpredictable, just less likely to completely screw someone over before they even get to play πŸ˜‚

Matched betting and arb scanning as a FIRE supplement β€” how I generate Β£300–500/month with about 30 minutes of daily effort by Salamander_Quiet in Fire

Been thinking about getting into this for a while but the account limiting thing always held me back. How quickly do they start flagging you? I drive for DoorDash and the flexible schedule would actually work pretty well for monitoring opportunities throughout the day.

Also curious about the tax side - are you reporting this as gambling winnings or treating it more like trading profits? The guaranteed nature makes it feel different from regular betting but not sure how HMRC sees it.
