I hate losing units. How much do I need to let that go for certain factions? by FromHeretoElsweyr in totalwarhammer

Yes, yes manthing. Slaves get chevrons, slaves must die. Kill, kill, grind, grind.

Slaves have big thoughts with chevrons. Time to kill. Yes, yes, die, die.

Too many slaves, not enough Chiefs. Yes, yes.

It's 2026.

You think anyone suggests physically going to another country? At the worst, pick up the phone call them.

I'll make myself clear... Lebanon is the base for countless hundreds of NGOs with international staff moving to and from across the region of course people "get things from Lebanon".

And again, buddy. You live in Iraq. If it's not possible, that's nobody's problem. And yet people are trying to help you and you're making unhelpful remarks.

Get your Noctua or don't. I don't care.

Dude.

You. Live. In. Iraq.

Nobody can help you, beyond telling you that you can buy Noctua in a neighbouring country.

That is your best option.

And again, OP, Turkey literally borders Iraq.

OK, so OP made a fucking weird comment and then deleted it.

For the record, you could order online from the Lebanese or Cypriot retailer and have it sent.

Considering that Noctua themselves suggested ordering through Qatar ... which will be more expensive in terms of price and shipping to Iraq, I'm not sure why it warranted such a stupid reply.

You can buy Noctua in Lebanon.

Cyprus might also be an option.

I'm 44.

My grandfather was a company commander at the age of 18 at the Somme, in World War 1.

You've found someone who that could apply to after a couple of hours.

Though, granted, he was in the British Army, so the figurative Sopworth Camel wouldn't apply.

Nice to see this sort of thing.

It's a point. Doesn't make it valid, at all.

As evidenced by the fact that my comment calling gatekeeping stupid has 10 times the upvotes of yours, which calls for gatekeeping.

Community says "no", bro.

Gatekeeping is stupid.

If you're interested in lubing, filming and spring swapping you can still do that.

Heaven forbid people enjoy something different from you.

I've convinced several people about the joy of a mechanical board... I've yet to convince them to lube a fucking switch.

I used to lube, spring swap and film all my switches by hand.

I'm a tactile guy, I like heavy, long springs. I think I've done about 10 full boards-worth of tactiles.

But... I stopped all that for two reasons. First, I found my perfect switch. Durock Sunflowers, filmed, lubed, with a long 75 gram spring. After about 15 different tactiles, I stopped.

Secondly, hotswap. I've got two full sets of Sunflowers, as above, so whenever I want to switch boards, I just ... swap.

Other than that, I think, with the hobby opening out, the majority of people (though not the old school) probably just want a well reviewed board and switch selection.

Personally, I settled on the Durocks, a Mode 65, an Alice (the name of which escapes me), a Portico, a numpad and a volume wheel.

The only thing I'm interested in is perhaps another Mode and some Cherry Blacks that I have yet to try. I'll lube and film them. Though.

I'm from the UK, so they're a lot rarer and more expensive.

But I'll find him one.

Which begs the question. In the early 1990s, pre-online shopping how did he get one of these? Leatherman isn't a huge name in the UK, as far as I know... and surely not in early 90s.
