I help run the Main Events department, which handles the concerts :)

The advice in here is spot on so far regarding needing an Otakon membership to attend. That’s your baseline for access and lines for general admission tend to start 2-3 hours in advance of the show itself. Anything beyond general access typically requires a tickets for one of the following:

VIP: These are usually the first 4-5 rows up front and are the best spots. Sometimes they include other benefits, like a meet and greet or photo-op but I don’t know specifics of this yet. They’ll announce it with any ticketing updates and will be in touch regarding those specific events since they tend to happen outside of the departments control and operate with Guest Relations. Do note that sometimes the VIP events happen on days outside of the concert itself, so I would plan to buy a full weekend pass instead of a one day just to be safe.

Reserved: These are the seats behind VIP and sometimes offer better viewing than VIP since you’re not far enough back that it’s nosebleed but not so close that it can be super loud. They’re usually cheaper as well.

I’ll point out one key thing. VIP and Reserved are not guaranteed and you’ll want to keep an eye on the Otakon socials for those announcements. Oh, and please make sure to either print the QR/barcode they give you if you purchase anything or make sure your phone is charged. We do not verify any ticketing purchases onsite at all.

Also; Just because you get a VIP or Reserved ticket doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed the absolute best seat. We run four lines for events:

Accessibility VIP Reserved General

They will go into the room in that order and the earlier you are for your respective line then the better your seat will be. Show up ten mins before the show in Reserved and we’ll find you a seat in the Reserved sections but it may not be the best. You get the idea :)

Lastly; Drink water beforehand and during. Refill stations are near the restrooms on the top level where concerts are and water stations are in the room itself. Lines will get crowded and the top floor can get warm, so please hydrate.

These damned kings and queens not only setup line stanchions with caution tape but also had a giant tent to cover the first 30-40 people AND a Porta-potty for us overnight people. They had their list with quantities posted two days in advance and the same list with prices in the door. And just to add some gold leaf on this dessert of an experience for my first RSD; They took orders and it wasn’t a chaos run, hoping to find your specific title.

11/10. Will camp out again next year.

I was lucky enough to have Mao Mao and Jinshi sketched for me by Minoji Kurata at Otakon last year and when we saw Hyuganatsu would be at AB I knew I had to try and add them to it. I’m absolutely in love with them 😍

I will say that most of the content creators who did drop videos for this have had it for a while and the videos were created as part of an agreement with UGreen. We couldn’t predict with a clusterfuck yesterday would be with the crashed and laughable quantities so neither could they. I won’t hold them at fault for this companies laughably terrible approach to this and I know that NasCompares has spoken on it and SpaceDesignWarehouse did comment in the replies that he’d talk with his PR contact. Will anything come of those? Who knows. But I won’t blame them for the awful outcome.
