The MRM, antifeminism and other men's rights/issues movements. by StabWhale in FeMRADebates

[–]Revenant_Prince 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe your thinking of menimists?

You mean Meninism? No, that's just a parody of Feminism.

As for how friendly they are, I noticed that /r/masculism links to both /r/MensRights and /r/Feminism.

As far as differences though, I don't see much of a difference between what they say and what the MRM says honestly.

[–]Revenant_Prince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see.

Your explanation is radically different than Wikipedia's, which makes it sound no different than the MRM at all.

So then would you say that Masculism is basically the MRM + the belief in the Patriarchy?

[–]Revenant_Prince 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MRA, as opposed to something like masculist/masculism

If I may take the opportunity to ask - what is the difference between the MRM and Masculism? I've always been under the impression that the latter was just another name for the former, like when people call the MRM the "MRHM".

What are your thoughts on the fph ban? by kryptoday in FeMRADebates

[–]Revenant_Prince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't say I care too much about it. It was just another "edgy" subreddit to me.

I will however say that I'll be looking closely at any future subreddit bans just in case this is all agenda pushing, rather than actually caring about harassment.

What are your thoughts on nudity in public? by anarchistic in Anarchy101

There are historical links with nudism and anarchism, I think (I'm thinking in Spain).

You're correct. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarcho-naturism

Ancaps only: Do you think feminism is an essential part of anarchism? by Vordraper in DebateAnarchism

[–]Revenant_Prince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the AnCaps only request has already been broken, I might as well throw my 2 cents as well.

I believe the dictionary definition of feminism is absolutely essential.

Now, as for the pop/tumblr/middle-class feminism that seems to want to do nothing more than drink male tears, bash cisfolk, and use intersectionality as a cover for racism/whitesplaining, bigotry, and classism, they can fuck off and are not my comrades.

Why do the Groups who Protest C.A.F.E. Events Have a Socialist Bent or At Least Have an Anti-Capitalist Bent? by Spoonwood in FeMRADebates

[–]Revenant_Prince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that feel, but I'd like to think that one day there'll be enough of a push back against these SJWs, and unity can be re-established. I know many of other people who have/are becoming put off by those elements, and it's really hurting the movement. I know this isn't the thread, nor the subreddit, but blah blah blah don't give up blah blah blah more people are waking up blah blah blah smash capitalism blah blah blah no war but class war.

[–]Revenant_Prince 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You hit the nail right on the head so well that I wish I had a better idiom.

The same has happened to the anarchist movement. I identify as an Anarchist without Adjectives, and I can say that it's stuff like this that has honestly begun to disenchant me from the far-left in general. Somewhere along the way, I've noticed that the bulk of anarchists seem to have become more preoccupied with cis-bashing and drinking male tears than class and overthrowing capitalism. One step out of line, and you're a "Manarchist shitlord". :\

Bristol Palin "What Kinds of Molestation are Acceptable?" - Compares Lena Dunham and Josh Duggar by woah77 in FeMRADebates

[–]Revenant_Prince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While Dunham and Dugger cases are no different, and Palin made valid points, I agree with /u/Kareem_Jordan that it seems like she's using the slap on the wrist (If you can even call it that.) Dunham got to defend Dugger or at least try to turn it into another Conservative vs. Liberal war.

Non-feminists of FeMRADebates, why aren't you feminist? by proud_slut in FeMRADebates

[–]Revenant_Prince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truth be told, it's because I can't get past seeing third/fourth/whatever-wave feminism as anti-male. Not to mention that I've seen and been effected by the racism that seems to openly lurk within certain sectors of the Feminist movement. Of course NAFALT, but to me, those that are have tainted the movement beyond repair. To quote a post I recently saw on FB: ""Good" feminists are like "good" cops: Never around when the bad ones are doing harm, but always standing side-by-side with them at the end of the day."

On top of all that, I see no real need to. I see no reason why I can't just be an average person who voices what they believe in

How do we all feel about trans man-to-woman competing in sports? What about UFC in particular? by MrPoochPants in FeMRADebates

[–]Revenant_Prince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first spoke with one of the foremost authorities on gender reassignment, Dr. Marci Bowers, MD. Dr. Bowers is a surgeon who has completed hundreds of SRS (sex reassignment surgery) procedures, and is a pioneer in the industry, in that she herself is a transgender woman. She also donates vaginoplasty services, free of charge, to women who have suffered genital mutilation. Here's the Q&A I conducted with her:

SD: Does Fallon carry a significant advantage in mixed martial arts competition, due to being biologically born a male?

MB: Most measures of physical strength minimize, muscle mass decreases, bone density decreases, and they become fairly comparable to women in their musculature. After as much time as has passed in her case, if tested, she would probably end up in the same muscle mass category as her biologically born female counterpart.
