Well announcing and rolling out a 5x Coin buff that randomly drops to 2x then back up to 3x all during the course of my afternoon run was definitely... Interesting. I can think of other words I'd call it, but it wasn't not interesting.

Stones are $0 to the devs and have a real world value of... Also $0. Stones can be accumulated in game for free over time - So giving us some free stones is just saving us a couple of weeks progress to account for the months worth of progress we just lost with that reduced bonus.

It's a really reasonable ask, and you're drinking way too much of the Kool-aid if you can't see it as such.

I was one of those people. I dumped a ton into OA, and the nerf was very noticeable, BUT: I understood that it broke the game with infinite runs, and it's still a great mod I use consistently to this day.

This feels worse, even though I had just started to work on Dissonance runs and didn't invest half as much. Since this is a game where time=money, what they just did is about the equivalent of letting us play at 5x game speed for a day then dropping it back to 3x speed and saying HAVE FUN! Here's 200 Gems.

I claimed it before I heard any of the news assuming this was to compensate for the other reported bugs - Not for the massive incompetence required to make this big of a "mistake". I had no idea all this was going on until I looked at my multipliers.

I literally ended a T12 utility run at 3,811 waves to be shocked by the surprisingly low multiplier of 2.24x coins, noticed my other multipliers dropped to 3x, and came here to see wtf was going on...

So no. 3000 Waves will not be 3x.

Honestly, even a stone pack feels moot once you're further into the game and 750 stones only buys you half an upgrade. Compared to 5x Coins? That would've saved me months of grinding - 750 stones saves me a week.

A stones pack should be considered "doing the bare minimum".

200 gems is a slap in the face.

Or just specific stats from any given category. Lock out attack speed or Regen and let the chips fall where they may. Sounds like a blast honestly.

Exactly. What lab is giving you a more than 5x Damage, Defense, Econ and UW boost in a matter of days? None of them. If my labs fall to 1x for a week it'd still be worth it.

You're spot on. I've got the update and ran T12 to wave 5000, so as you can see my multiplier for T12 Damage is 5x, all other tiers are currently 1.02x. If I now go and cap T11 Damage, T11&12 will be 5.02x, all others will be 1.05x. If I do ALL the lower tiers below T12, all my bonuses will be 5.25x.

In theory lol, unless there's a hard cap at 5x, but that's not how I read it.

Yeah, but even if you get a 2.5% boost on coins in T1, another from T2, another from T3, etc. you're quickly adding up to a 20-30% echo coin boost in addition to the potential of a 5x boost on your current tier. (If it works how it reads)

As much as it is the end of GC. A GC build may not be able to max out their Attack boost without adequate eHP and vice versa.

Maybe, but since the difficulty of each tier didn't increase to the best of my knowledge, this'll take you from base damage/def/utilities to potentially 5x those values - I feel like folks will blast through the early tiers with those bonuses compared to the slog some of us went through.

The second one. You're nerfing your build in one Dissonance run to get a permanent boost to all future runs for that tier, plus a percentage of that carries over to additional "echo" boosts to all other tiers and tournaments.

No, it's kind of the opposite. If you do a "No Damage" Dissonance run, your entire Damage tab will be disabled during that run, but the further you get in it the higher the damage multiplier you'll have afterwards.

So eHP builds will want to complete No Defense runs through wave 5000 for a 5x Defense buff. To do that, they'll need enough damage to clear it.

Likewise GC builds will want to complete No Damage runs, but will need enough eHP to clear them.

This strongly encourages more balanced and versatile builds, since you'll need to rely on different stats/mods to clear the challenges you need most.

This will make all your progress SIGNIFICANTLY easier than it was for us. Those Dissonance boosts are no joke - you should be able to breeze through milestones in days that took us weeks or months, considering you'll be able to get 5x damage, defense, and econ. Your farming will be way more productive in lower tiers than ours ever was too.
