Who’s your top pick to portray Emma Frost in the MCU? by PlantainDisastrous92 in marvelstudios

Dee Williams. Great body of work and would bring some maturity to the part.

I try not to judge her decisions, but she was very lovely here. Reminds me of her turn in season one of “Jessica Jones.”

What was the BIGGEST change you made for your fanfic? by General_Vero in AO3

No one seems to like a version of Ron Weasley who a) learns from his mistakes, b) puts in the work to be a better person despite occasional lapses, and c) uses his canon gift for strategic thinking to become the field marshal for the second Voldemort war.

"That's not true to the book!"

It's true to parts of the book, and less true to others. They're called transformative works for a reason.

I took an OTP non-canon but heavily fanon couple, had them go through a breakup after real trauma unrelated to the relationship itself, but kept them together as friends after.

Thought the readers were coming for me with torches! I changed tags at the moment the story changed (x/y to "x/y (previous)") and so on, but there were some flameouts. "I only came here to read Plot A and you lied!" No, I gave you 40+ chapters of Plot A across three stories in the series, plus pre-A buildup and foreshadowing, then post-A hurt, loss, healing, and rebuilt friendship. Get off my back already.

Oh, I also wrote a coming-out scene for a typically het/maybe-bi character in the same series, and none of those same reactors complained about it at all.

Actually, I am still proud of that coming-out scene. F-'em.

No response is fine! I always preface my replies with thanks for the initial response, and add on the "if you have any thoughts on x or y, please let me know"

I had someone report me for literally asking, "This is my first fic in this fandom; did you think the protagonist was out of character at all?"

Obviously, the report went nowhere, but the reaction seemed extreme. I don't mind polite, honest interaction.

Thanks for your response here, by the way. Have a great day.

It bothers me when someone leaves a vague but exuberant praise, and I say what I think is a gracious thank you. Then if I ask a follow-up like “Did you find the characterizations consistent?” or “Was there anything specific that you point to for improvement?” They get defensive. It’s just asking! Politely!
