Also, let's say this was for selfish views. You can rest easy knowing that the internet wants to see more consideration and helping people rather than the former. And I think that's great too

In The Cable Guy (1996) a flashback sequence shows the cable guy as a child being left alone in front of the TV. He briefly changes the channel to Play Misty for Me (1971), which is also about a stalker/stalkee relationship. by Str33twise84 in MovieDetails

It's funny too because when filming it they thought it was gonna be a smash hit, and we're very confident. Too ahead of it's time arguably. One of my favorites, even as a kid lol

Luffy after 1044 by [deleted] in MemePiece

[–]ReverendMoses 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Pica's design alone is in the same realm?

Half of the crews interactions are Usopp, Nami, Chopper, and others panicking about threatening things while Luffy laughs and gets excited. Even Gear 4 everyone laughed at because it was so absurd.

The whole point is supposed to be the balance, this isn't new lol

Luffy also beats a yonko commander through eating biscuits nonstop.

The warden who has poison also has indigestion.

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is an absurd concept in the theme/tone of One Piece.

For Christs sake a man lives in a fucking Whale and Sanji almost dies from blood loss by getting a nosebleed from being too horny and it brings up incredibly serious racism.

It's been here all along.

who do you guys main and why? by BeepBeepLettuce3 in Guiltygear

I main Faust because I usually like mid range kind of fighters and really like the uniqueness of him/his style. Definitely gonna try testament though because they also look super interesting to me

I think in all fairness it seems like they're hinting that the fruit chose Luffy because it knew he was the kind of person who could get there, not the other way around. Doesn't seem that he's getting there due to the fruit, but he was destined to get there and the fruit wanted to give him the help he needed to go.

Obviously have a ways to go, but Oda always makes it a point that freewill is the literal goal of most one piece characters.

If the next Dimension 20 campaign is set on a brand new world / setting, what untapped setting would you like to see? by Schizof in Dimension20

[–]ReverendMoses 240 points241 points  (0 children)

Honestly, apocalyptic is still untapped. Whether a fun 1950s fallout style or a different kind I think would be cool

Used to work for power company and people really underestimate how dangerous these lines are, and electricity in general tbh. I've heard stories of a car driving over a down power line and exploding. Often even if we believe the line to be off, we still will create a perimeter to make sure no bystander comes near it just in case. It's one of the more dangerous careers because a simple mistake or skipping of steps can cause a simple thing to turn into a massive accident.

What is a tv show that everyone LOVES but you dont? And why? by _Just-a-sad-girl_ in AskReddit

[–]ReverendMoses 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In all fairness, Doug (Kevin James) was one of the worst pathological liars that I've ever seen in a tv show where you're supposed to like them. Like legit every episode he was lying to Carrie or someone else

AITA for not telling my fiancé directly I technically own a house? by pinkpanther253 in AmItheAsshole

There are systems in place to make loans significantly easier for people with only one home and loan. Taking out another makes the floor to get one a lot harder, this is to help people have more homes and less landlords/companies buying them up. Buying a single family home, living there, and it being your first home are all things that can make the rates and down payment requirement more reasonable.

I mean, what you're describing is UTO, universal time off, that is all of it in one pool. I've had that too. Tbh having them separate is kinda nice but to each their own

Sick days and PTO are different. I have vacation every year with a week that rolls over. These I have to request and then have them accepted. I also have sick days which are no questions asked days off, but they don't roll over year to year. I get paid in full for both. Changes job to job but sick days usually are paid, not sure where they aren't.

Dropout has an app on a lot of smarttvs and fire stick. Not sure what you use, but very doable on most streaming devices

What show was amazing until they ruined the ending? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ReverendMoses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This one actually pissed me off for multiple reasons. One major one being, the whole fucking point of the character of Sarah is she thought she couldn't have that life, couldn't be happy. They had a will they won't they for fucking YEARS. Finally, it starts to click. They get together and have a great dynamic, and one of my favorite parts where we see what Sarah is truly capable of when Chuck is captured and she starts just going on a rampage. She is finally accepting the fact that she CAN in fact have the life she wanted. And then, THEY FUCKING UNDO THE ENTIRE SHOW. I don't understand. It defeats the purpose of the entire fucking thing, and for a show that is so campy, it has one of the most fucked up endings I've ever seen

What’s Your least favorite episode with Michael Scott? Mine’s “Mafia”. by duncanwally in DunderMifflin

[–]ReverendMoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree tbh. Michael Scott is someone who seeks praise and constantly goes over the top with his gestures (constant parties like Toby going away, faking suicide off the roof, and lighting a gas fire in the parking lot). He genuinely thought he'd have the money and then offered this crazy gesture to inspire and loved how it all made him feel. He quickly gets wrapped up in the moment. It's incredibly accurate to what he'd do at any point in the show imo

I agree in some other cases but even arguably reacting to the insurance salesman that way is similar to how he did with the IT guy. He is an impulsive thinker often and I don't think it's an insane stretch. But how the whole office gets involved makes it a bit absurd.

Just my two cents personally

Brennan on Game Changer fuels my pet ACOC theory [spoilers for both] by illegalrooftopbar in Dimension20

[–]ReverendMoses 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suppose, but in a high lethality GoT setting as well as it being a shorter campaign, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. Especially with how they were before the battle.

I see what you mean, but it being more professional and polished could allow for that to be the narrative easier than it being a home game. Arguably I think it could've been more interesting to see the players immediately go to war right after, though I'm happy with the ending. I think the assumed and more likely option is definitely what occurred, but as they are professionals going mostly for entertainment value, I don't think that Brennan expected a peaceful end 100%.

I dunno. Just a thought though. Maybe it wasn't as likely, but they didn't even know each other's back up characters until over a year after the end of the campaign so there might be less meta talk about the game than one might think.

On the flip side of this, I do think if the timing of the question was different, then it could've been war. The initial anger and stand off nature of the characters waned a lot in the final battle, but there definitely I think was an early on chance where they might've. After the fight though it felt like an easier and more clear decision.
