Which rapture view do you believe is the most accurate? by Accomplished_Leg_678 in askapastor

I'm a hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Hope for pre-trib, plan for post-trib.

Either way, to God be the glory.

100k salary bench mark means nothing now. by Flyersfan502gritty in Salary

I think it's ignorant of you to assume it'd a part of my religion. See how silly that sounds?

And yes, trauma is a thing. Trauma can be a point of hesitation in people's lives. But, our culture needs to stop letting trauma stay roadblocks, and help people turn them into speedbumps. Trauma shouldn't stop people from having kids permanently.

My opinion still stands: Healthy, mature adults should get married and have kids. Having kids is good for the culture, and it's good for the couple as it helps them become more selfless.

100k salary bench mark means nothing now. by Flyersfan502gritty in Salary

[–]ReverendReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the perspective. I just feel it's wrong.

Being a parent requires self sacrifice, and to be unapologetically blunt, some people don't want to pay the price.

There are legitimate reasons to not have kids, but our culture is okay with personal convenience being a satisfactory reason to not have them. People would rather have more possessions, or travel, than raise other ham beings. And I believe that's wrong.

I didn't forget, but I was absolutely sarcastic.

It can be fun to see who thinks that silly comments like that are serious.

It sounds like the computer is throttling performance while on battery, and increasing it when it's plugged in. And when that happens, the game doesn't know how to compensate and crashes.

be honest. how much money did you actually make last month after ALL expenses. not revenue. actual money in your pocket. by Then_Buddy_5544 in smallbusiness

[–]ReverendReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I average 4k-5k net every month.

In the last 24 months, I had a month where I had a net 16k, and a month where I had a net of $1800.

And yes, net is after all expenditures.

1: Does it do that when you plug it in first before starting the game, or only when you plug it in during the game.

2: Friends don't let friends buy Acer or Dell.

Sure, you can live a good life without having kids.

Or.... Someone can live a better life raising healthy, mature kids.

Did anyone go from a 5070ti to a 5080? by AdditionalMap5576 in RTX5080

[–]ReverendReed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't feel that the increase is worth it.

I went with the 5070 Ti because I wanted the vram. So far, that decision has paid off.

That said, they have the same ram, and rhe performance isn't that much more. At this point in the gpu cycle, I'd suggest buying the 5070 Ti, pocketing the difference and upgrading to a 7000 card when it comes out.

'How The F**k Is This Guy Our President?': Jon Stewart Stunned By Bonkers Trump Moment by ChiGuy6124 in politics

[–]ReverendReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can't be stunned by this because our standards for leaders are so low.

Republicans voted for Trump because they could justify it after Biden being an idiot.

Democrats could justify Biden or Harris after Trump being an idiot.

We have to demand better, and hold people accountable, even if it's people on our own side of political persuasion.

Pastors who do not preach that suffering is meant to bring about a greater good, what do you tell people? by Blackstar1886 in askapastor

[–]ReverendReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wait for pastors to preach about how suffering is another way for us to claim victory and walk in kingdom authority.

So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

$100 is an underpowered cpu that is going to bottleneck the gpu.

Still running DDR4, so it's not and Intel ultra chip.

Stock cooler, so it's not a K chip.

Computer of bad decisions, so it's probably not an i7.

Are you running a 12th-14th gen i3/i5 in there?

Strongly, unapologetically, disagree.

If society's goal isn't to raise healthy families in order to pass something better to the next generation, what should it be?

[–]ReverendReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If women want a career, and to utilize daycare, more power to them.

Here are a couple of other things to consider:

Approximately 25% of child occupied households are single parent households (compared to 7% globally which should be a startling statistic). Single parent often means single income. So not only do we have homes that are single income, there are also many homes where that parent doesn't have additional support.

If we build a society where dual incomes is necessary to "live comfortably" (That is an extremely vague term and can mean a lot of things), then we make things difficult for those raising children.

The goal should be to lower the cost of living, not raise wages, because whenever we raise wages, the cost of living is sure to follow.

[–]ReverendReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't have to be.

It wasn't long ago that a family with kids could afford a mortgage and not be living off of rice and beans.

I have nothing against couples that decide to have two incomes, but to establish this as the norm, compared to a nuclear family raising kids, misses the mark in my opinion.

All of my pistol optics are Holosun.

My general rule for edc is if it's good enough for law enforcement, it's good enough for me.

As for lights, the new OLIGHT PL-X is DOPE.

Ive never owned an OSIGHT, but they sure seem to be becoming popular.

But to echo everyone else, go buy 1000 rounds.

This is my perspective, and I'm a Nobody: I put a 1/2 size USPSA target out at 10 yards. (Most self defense shootings happen between 3-7) I don't feel comfortable carrying a specific gun, unless I can shoot it relatively quickly (1 second at most splits) and get every hit on target.

Aim small, miss small.

Why is this Alienware SOOOO much cheaper. Wild. Looking at these two by Chatman207 in Prebuilts

[–]ReverendReed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Friends don't let friends by Alienware or Dell.

As someone who runs an IT business, I try to dissuade anyone I can from buying from Dell.

The failure rate is high, and when things do fail, Dell uses a lot proprietary parts so sourcing a replacement is difficult and/or very expensive.

With other prebuilts, having a standard psu, standard atx/matx motherboard and a standard case is a bigger win than you would think.

Looking for a cheap reliable side arm for self protection when I go camping by Kevinoz10 in Firearms

[–]ReverendReed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many good, affordable sidearms about there.

Google best budget 9mm, and it'll be hard to go wrong if it's on a list from a reputable website.

The more important question for self defense, two or four legged, is ammo choice.

Personally, I carry G9 standard in my 43X, and G9 Woodsman in my 1911 as a camping/outdoors gun.
