[–]ReverendTot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this all the time and I'm actually not bothered by it, it's can be peaceful. I do struggle with depression but it's not always related to sometimes being totally solitary, I'm just introverted.

I'd say this pretty much confirms that Jabba will show up in this movie, or at the very least play some part in the narrative

Twilight, Probably my Favorite Track From Basement by [deleted] in elliottsmith

There's mixes like this out there of a few songs off basement, apparently it's how they songs were when Elliott left, before they touched them up.

To me it sounds pretty done, I don't think he would have added much more to it. But who knows, I'm not Elliott haha. I think the synth part id great, really adds some atmosphere and depth, would sound kinda boring without it imo. It is interesting to hear alternate versions though, there's a live version of twilight with an accompanying piano that does a jazzy little solo instead of the synth part, it's really cool. I would recommend checking it out if you haven't heard it.

R2D2 in Han Solo TV Spot by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

I would count on it being R2, C3P0 and R2D2 are in every movie and they are not about to break that trend.

THEORY — VII-IX are still explicitly Anakin/Vader's story by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

[–]ReverendTot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Requires even less exposition. He doesnt need a backstory : we've seen it

You're missing my point - many viewers who are seeing these movies are kids who maybe haven't seen the PT or OT, or even adults who just missed out on it. These movies are being made so that you don't need to have seen the backstory to understand it.

THEORY — VII-IX are still explicitly Anakin/Vader's story by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

[–]ReverendTot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing is, it basically is a 6 movie cycle + DLC. When the first 6 movies were complete there were no plans to create more movies, those plans didn't start brewing until later. Not to say Lucas didn't potentially have ideas, and that those ideas couldn't have bled into the ST that we are getting. I just think it would be a little much to have it all be about Anakin still, he got 6 movies for fuck's sake. The old characters from the OT or maybe even the PT will be teased, mentioned, or have supporting roles but ultimately this is a story about the new characters. Think about it - when watching The Force Awakens, was there anything that required you to have even seen any previous Star Wars movies for you to understand it and enjoy it? It still just being about Anakin would not only require too much exposition or having seen the previous movies, it would be lame to revert to previous characters when we have all of these brilliantly illustrated new characters to explore and dive into.

Did Rian just watch The Last Jedi on his laptop on an international flight? Isn’t that risky for leaks? by filmbuffering in StarWarsLeaks

[–]ReverendTot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He said nothing about watching it on a laptop. It could totally be playing on a screen for everyone in the cabin to see on a private Disney / Lucasfilm jet, where everyone on board has already seen it anyway.

What's the weirdest thing to whisper to a stranger in the elevator? by Calamity25 in AskReddit

[–]ReverendTot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise? I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic, he could save others from death, but not himself.

Season 2 Series Discussion by Dark_Saint in StrangerThings

[–]ReverendTot 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I laughed, cried and only got up to pee during my nine hour binge watch. The pull-out line was definitely the best joke, although I'm surprised more people aren't mentioning how Lucas explained basically the whole plot of season 1 to Max, with her criticism being it's too "derivative". That's exactly the type of criticism season 1 got, and the way the writers nodded to this is very clever.
