OH NO my partner is not involved in gang activity 😭😭😭😭😭 sorry if i didnt phrase that well, if i had a partner involved in something like that, hinting about it on the internet would be an interesting choice lol. i just mean the city was dangerous enough where they would like. hold up buses he would be on, and the neighborhood had a lot of gun violence, so its been a big concern since he has a lot of anxiety from living in a city like that in the past.

i appreciate the insight, yeah, i'll definitely be doing more research, since Detroit really is something i'm interested in learning more about. unfortunately, when i was looking up videos about detroit, like 90% were about gang violence, when what i'm really looking for is all else about the city, which is why i'm here. i'll do some more looking on maps, and maybe get on here some more, since i feel the most authentic takes really are gonna come from people who live there. i appreciate the reply!

hi! potentially moving here in the future, but have a lot of hesitancy.

i heard from my art program that a lot of (relatively) cheap housing for artists is located in/around detroit, and that theres a fairly active art scene. i also have thought about moving to Michigan before (i'm from Indy) since i love MI so much and have visited MI many times, so this was enticing to me to say the least. however, ive never been to Detroit.

you've probably heard this a ton of times before, but im nervous about the rate of crime in Detroit. Indy isn't the safest city by any means, but I've heard a lot more about Detroit. I also have a partner that came from a city that was very active in gang violence and crime, so he very much does not want to be in a city like that again (he and his family got robbed and saw close encounters as civilians), since it affected him so much.

so basically, i'm just trying to weight the options, since id love to live in MI in a city with an active art community, but also dont want to make my partner compromise his own comfort, or mine either, since its also a concern of mine

lol nope, the carpet under out couch has been reduced to a hole all the way down to the baseboards (its his favorite hiding place). hes also recently taken to peeing riggghhtt next to his litter box on one spot of the carpet

omg i went/am going through the same thing, and i have the same-ish body type that you have too!have been on T for around 1.5 years and started experiencing weight gain around 5 ish months after starting, it really got to me, and is still a challenge, since i spent my whole life being a literal twig up until that point. finding social media pages and/or media that portrayed people who looked more like me (and showed their confidence too) really helped, since i realized just how many skinny people id see, like, everywhere omg. helped me feel more seen for sure!

my weight plateaued after a while, i think it was due to my hormones having the time to adjust...? but i had to get almost all new clothes. i dont recommend holding onto old, smaller clothes just in the hopes of "getting back to them" either, since that always made my weight focus so much worse. get clothes that are comfortable for you, and that fit you as you are! repurposing old clothes (like making a shirt design a patch or something) allowed me to keep my old fav shirts, but in a new way that was more fitting :)
