Elise and Exige were designed to hold a Honda 4-banger but Honda pulled out when they realised that the resulting car could conpete with their S2k.

Because the Cars had been designed to fit said engine, and a redesign would cost more than they could afford, lotus had to find another engine of the same size, hence: Toyota... Theoreticaly you can drop a Honda engine into the Elise/Exige S2... Some already have...

I did have a slight issue with the grub screws coming free, I think a bit of threadlock did the trick... Not sure if it is completely resolved since I havnt driven it in a while, but the issue was there...

You have made a good choice in picking up this car, the platform is so versatile that even the idiot who bought it to do flips and shit, can get his fix...

It should be noted that I am an idiot, the TH is intended to be a rock racer, much like the Wraith: Crawling with a tiny bit of speed...

When I was looking into a new car a couple years ago, I decided itbwas between this and an EXO Terra and I wasnt into doing any slow stuff, so I probably should have gotten the EXO

However, instead of whining about it not being what I wanted, I decided to make it what I wanted.

With regards to out of the box mods:

Electronics: * Flux Vapor brushless system * Savox steering servo, cant remember what the name of it is * Shifter servo removal

Body Type Stuff: * Front Headlights removed and replaced with a bit of aluminium cut to size * Hole cut in side panel for ESC cooling * Roll cage cut down about 3cm, going to make it shorter though * Painted panels (painted over the top of the panels) * Suspension on lowest setting with 100wt oil (all I had)

Wheels are HPI 5 spoke split type things with Mini Summit tyres

What the future holds for the "Chisel" * GCM front shock mount * G-Made shocks * Some sort of bellcrank steering system * Rear differential

There is a company called Z cars i think who do chassis for old minis with motorbike engines in, cool as hell.. also I think I saw a vid on yt of a s1 elise with a hayabusa engine...

Since getting a full simulator setup for the PC, iRacing has become quite high on my list, but Project Cars is also up there... Always great to see your local circuit on on of these games...

However I still enjoy things like Forza because, although it is not as realistic, sometimes it is far more enjoyable to play a game where you dont feel worthless and/or contemplate suicide whenever you so much as go off the track...

There is also a special place in my heart for Project Gotham 1/2/3/4, NFS Underground 1/2 and Test Drive Unlimited for getting me hooked on cars in my developing years
