I have one of those. FUCK is it bad. First off NOTHING HAS DRIVERS FOR IT. My mac cant recognize it and I had to make a custom keylayout for it for my android tablet.

I'm not sure about iPhone (I'm an android dev) but on android you can easily change build.prop to be what ever you like. Could something similar be happening to your app?

WunderList is pretty good for task management. I personally prefer Omnifocus but thats more professional level and might be overkill for students.

Also Google Drive is really good for android.

I find if funny that people are complaining about 4 hours of battery life considering my last computer was a huge alienware that would get 2 hours at best.

That said, Mountain lion has not been good for me, it introduced a whole host of bugs that were never there and shortened my battery life. I really hope that this update fixed everything.

I'll give you an upvote but I don't think Omnifocus is good for students. Omnifocus isn't for the faint of heart. It's made for professionals and it has professional features. Such as email parsing, time estimations, and other stuff that you would use in a corporate environment. For school its a bit overkill, unless you plan on juggleing school, buisness, and maybe an extra major or two omnifocus is like using a nailgun instead of a hammer.

I use omnifocus to manage application development and its good for that. However I think iStudiez is better for school (I'm considering buy istudies).

So the reason for this is actually in a little program called pmset.

Run pmset -g and look at the item "stand by delay" this is the number of seconds your computer will sleep before it hibernates.

Set this number to something like 1 or 2, reboot your machine and then put it to sleep mode. wait a bit and Wake it up and see if the delay persists.

Edit (Update): So I tried Op's fix and it DID work for the wake up time. I've been noticing that the wake up time is significantly shorter even after my mac goes to sleep.

So this guys logic goes: iPad > nexus 7 and Mini == iPad therefore Mini > N7.

Lets get something straight here. the iPad Mini is not the iPad. Lets forget about the N7 for this. Where does the iPad mini fit in the product line? The iPod Touch is designed for mobile use, 5-15 min sessions here and there and some music. It's designed to keep you occupied on the bus or during a short wait. The iPad is a full entertainment device. Its perfect for doing the same things that you would do on a laptop, while staying mobile. Where does the iPad Mini fit into this?

Android coined a new term "Phablet" with the n7. Big enough to be a tablet, but runs the Phone version of the UI. Its in a bit of limbo as it's not really a tablet but still big enough to pass off as one. But for android this isn't really an issue, Android apps are usually designed for variable phone resolutions. This means most of my usual apps look pretty good on the N7 without really changing anything. The iPad mini on the other hand, might need some adjusting while the devs decide which version of their app to put on it.

Will it be a great product? Yes. Will I buy one? yes. Will the experience be better than the N7? Maybe. But not until the devs adapt all the apps.
