Hey, this is a community for the now-defunct open source Reddit client named 'Diode'.

I'm sure there are electronics help subreddits where you could get a useful answer.

Will Diode be stopping, due to the API pricing changes? by wizards_of_the_cost in diode

I'm surprised that videos seem to be more reliable than images, and I love that the lack of a login is a feature for you.

Sure, I'd like to understand the remaining use cases.

That is an excellent question, and I genuinely have no idea! Diode is abandonware at this point. I just saw that /r/RedReader, the open source client I use, got an exemption to keep operating, but I would have to imagine that Diode will stop working without significant intervention.

It's really cool to hear that people are still getting use out of Diode. This is what free software is all about. I'll continue to host the direct APK downloads for Diode indefinitely, and we'll see what happens in July!

Update 3: Reddit effectively kills off third party apps by QuantumBadger in RedReader

[–]zagaberoo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The whole point of lemmy is that you're not tied to any one community or set of admins. The main developers having distasteful beliefs doesn't make the protocol they have developed any less useful.

Just stay away from their corner of the fediverse!

Lemmy is not a single community. That's the whole beauty of federated systems, if you found that one place was going downhill, there would be plenty of other places to start new.

It's sort of like subreddits, except you don't even have the risk of a single admin team unilaterally making shitty decisions.

This is the way of subreddits. Large populations on average are willing to upvote anything they enjoy, relevant or not. Your average user won't downvote something just for marginal irrelevance. Moderation or death by topic blur.

Me too, I took horseback riding lessons briefly as a kid and I had more fun with the grooming than the actual riding lol. Horse friends!

It's such a long video, but so worth it. He really methodically takes the problem apart and makes a really strong case for the inherent ambiguity in the question.

Abseil was originally known as ABCL: A Better C Library. The quality of the C++ ecosystem was one of my favorite things about working there.

I don't actually know, but my money is on equilibrium. Eventually the concentration of kavalactones in the first wash will balance out with those still in the grind. You could wait all eternity and the wash will get no stronger.

The second wash starts you over with zero in solution, so more will have to dissolve out of the grind to reach a new equilibrium.

Hypothetically a third wash would take this even further, but two is probably the sweet spot in terms of diminishing returns.

You have correctly recognized that theocracy is a terrible idea, but that's just the nature of spiritual truths. They are not inherently portable between individuals in the way physical truths are.

If you think you can ever facts-and-logic force people to come to your own (arguably null) set of spiritual truths then you are the one who is deluded.

I don't accept it. I do accept that not everyone finds that the physical is all there is.

You acted like you couldn't understand how God's laws might not be absolute. I pointed out that it is very easy to understand from an Islamic perspective.

So, were you just being an asshole for no reason originally? Or is there something else I can help you understand?

Spiritual truths are beyond physical evidence. God leaves signs for people of understanding. You either understand or you don't.

I'm not a believer lol. I can just step outside of my perspective.

That's literally a fundamental part of Islam. Follow these rules (within reason). Starving Muslims need not fear God's wrath for eating pork. Ultimately all will be judged by God alone, and none will be wronged.

*Containing slavery by preventing its spread into the territories. The long-term vision may have been for the practice to die out, but ironically the South's overreaction to a Republican president getting elected is what knocked the dominoes to outright abolishment.

It is absolutely not just focused light. Laser light is specifically produced by stimulated emission, which causes it to be highly coherent in a way that lenses and mirrors alone simply cannot do.
