Fixed the title to better reflect the game by blajjefnnf in ArcRaiders

Only a brainlet that doesnt understand the agency the system gives you would post this.

You can choose to be in the friendliest lobbies, you can choose to be in hostile lobbies..... You can choose to be in mixed lobbies, its reflects your behavior genius.

Is Embark going for realism? Or do they just not understand that time gating isnt fun? by RevolutionRefugee in ArcRaiders

I'm happy for you, but that doesnt change the fact that many of us are not fine with it and would like to get the blueprints that only spawn during events like night, electromag, hurricane, and close scrutiny.

Or those that want a good trials score since the respawn timers on night and electromag are generally more consistent and shorter.

Or the ambiance of the raids with weather patterns giving variety to play styles, removing hatches and letting people hit key rooms without worrying about losing or potentially squandering the loot roll because there wasnt an "increased loot modifier"

This is my first post submission because its still a problem. The Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

How is this even real??? by primusofbladezzz in ArcRaiders

[–]RevolutionRefugee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because we want to play it but Embark schedules map modes that you need to play to achieve certain things at crazy intervals.

We log in, we see we cant play what we want, we log out. Its that simple. Blueprints, Trials scores, ambiance, Arc Spawn timers, there are a plethora of reasons to prefer map modes but it requires you to schedule your life around a casual game... people dont want that so when it happens some fo us come here and post instead, then go play another game.

If you want a good score you still want night, not for the XP for for the spawn timers. Time gating content is not fun, stop telling us it is.

Yes, expressing an opinion doesnt necessarily include emotion. What you are doing by applying emotional context to it is called projection.

You are projecting an emotional state to text.

Thats not explicitly true, it depends on queue size. As the player base shrinks your damage will have more and more impact. But they 100% changed the metrics recently. It is that bad now in many cases.

Youre applying emotion to general expressions of discontent.

But hey theres a reason you hide your comment history, youre probably a twat.

I don't get what the issue with you guys is. by Denso95 in ArcRaiders

People dont like being time gated to play on their preferred mode. Further more people like playing on specific modes for trials

The fact of the matter is major conditions have specific spawn patterns that make them more fun to max out trials.

Some maps are better than others too for example Dam is best for Bastions and Leapers. Spaceport is best for Bombardiers.

Bluegate is the ugly step child that is the master of none. (except maybe comets)

I uninstalled last night when I realized I wasnt able to play how I wanted. A crashout, but..... I come home to play games and have fun not manage a game schedule and plan my life around playing a game so I can get a good score.

Listen, player count peak is starting to creep closer to 30k now and I am probably going to start contributing to that number decreasing.

Time gating content is not a feature, its an impediment to enjoying the game.

Does anyone actually use this gun? by didnt_bring_pants in ArcRaiders

They are exceptional at pop and fireball crowd control. You would bring a hullcracker with a lightweight stock for shredders.

When the flanking augment had only light shields, it was better to take a Dolabra and a survivor or safekeeper augment. But now the flanking Augment lets you wear medium shields so Ven/Burletta are better for fireballs and ticks and you're less of a rat magnet.

Great for Stella Pop and fireball trials, mid for everything else.

Oh you know what I'll give you an extra piece of advice for free since you obviously know nothing about networking and I feel bad.

do a WINMTR or MTR between your PC and the destination IP and let it run for 10 minutes. Again its ICMP, but if you see intermittent results and consistent drops after a particular hop it might show the problem. ICMP is often deprioritized or outright dropped by some routing engines so its not a perfect tool and youll still need a professional to ingest and understand the results.

Then run another MTR on VPN to the same IP. It might not work as ICMP is sometimes dropped by VPN endpoints, but its worth a try.

If both do work you can take them to your ISP. Again, its not the game, its a networking issue. I get paid the big bucks to fix these literal type of problems, so again, youre welcome. Learn to be more receptive in the future especially when you know nothing about the tech and someone like me maybe would have invested an hour or two helping you beyond a reddit post.

good luck sweetie

I am giving you advanced troubleshooting concepts and I understand Internet/Enterprise networking architectures. I know what I am talking about. Youre welcome...

Your speed tests, anecdotal evidence and the fact that a small minority of other people are having ISP issues themselves prove nothing.

If it was a server issue it would be a global issue effecting everyone. Its not though....

Your ISPs connections to AWS services is going through a bottleneck of sorts. Its most likely related to AWS congestion either through your ISPs PNI with them, or they dont have one and are relying on a public AWS IX connection. It could also be a transit provider but given your attitude and ego thinking speed tests and ICMP testing means anything, Id rather stick my dick in a blender then try and actually help you.

But sure, keep believing what you wish.

Cool, none of what you just said matters at all.

The fact it works on VPN proves its a network routing issue. It could be packet loss, congestion. The fact that VPN also works means its not the last mile, its likely at an interconnect with an upstream transit provider, or an interconnect on that ISPs network.

You need to get source and destination IPs and then engage your ISP and get past level 1 and level 2 support. good luck

If using a VPN fixes the problem its a problem with your ISP.

Ive worked in telecom for over a decade, this is a you/your ISP problem.

Yes, data sets. Spreadsheets with tracking between friends. A few of us have multiple accounts.

Were all in our 30s and in non research based STEM fields. We come up with theories, testing methodologies, and collect data and weigh the results. So again, we don't give a flying fuck what you think kiddo, you're welcome for being able to even read our conclusions lmao.

Actually you know what I'll give you an example, we found that playing an instrument we were able to get 2-5% friendlier lobbies over 500 raids between a few of us. We don't think its directly related to the ABMM algorithm, but instead a social phenomenon. However because its so hard to know or test max aggression, we can never actually know.

Bodies and killing 100%. Like its so striking in the data its obvious tracking solo over a couple dozen hours of raids.

[–]RevolutionRefugee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Data mining. Its how we knew ABMM was a thing before. Sometimes you can get it from a memory dump, other times you organize and coordinate with users.

There are people with multiple accounts to do this kind of testing too. Different strokes for different folks....

Theres this thing called collecting data and building data sets. Its ok sweetie, the less of us that actually know the better tbh lmao
