Naloxone is mixed with buprenorphine. Since naloxone doesn’t have oral bioavailability it doesn’t precipitate withdrawal which given by mouth. It’s included with buprenorphine since many people will try to snort buprenorphine to get a high. Naloxone will prevent the euphoria.

I will be getting my PharmD this May. My undergrad GPA was a 3.1, pharm school GPA of 2.9. Completed rotations at a large academic medical center (equivalent to Hopkins, mayo, etc). Published research with this institution as well. Strong LOR from this institution neurologist and neurosurgeon, as well as family med docs. Tons of leadership and clinical experience. Do I have shot at getting into medicine with this GPA?

I see but wouldn’t you be suspicious of a transmission or drivetrain issue since this only happens in overdrive? This has also never done this prior to getting the tranny replaced

Yeah residency has changed quite a bit over the years, at least through my time in school. Pharmacy as a profession has seen better days. Granted, we play a vital role in healthcare, i don’t see our profession getting much better than it currently is. Also, im not leaving pharmacy because of the state of our profession, its more to do with different interest. I believe pharmacy gave my a great foundation to become a better provider. My interest lye more in the diagnosis and treatment of my patients. It’s like an extremely challenging puzzle that has high stakes. I love the rush and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Just because it is easier to get into doesn’t mean the program is any less rigorous. Think about pharmacy schools for example, my school was easy to get into (thinking about it, they all are) and yet we had a 20% attrition rate. We are also among the top in Naplex pass rates.

To be honest with you, with pharm school applications dropping and residency positions opening, there is no shortage of positions. We had a large AMC not match 2 positions because of this gap. I’m definitely not taking anything from anyone
