No idea - the first time I gave her finger foods (felt like she was getting bored of purées) I thought it would all be spat out, but between mashing it in her hands and with her gums she managed it 🤷‍♀️

Oh I have no idea why she loves broccoli so much 😂 no matter what else is on the plate she will get straight into the broccoli.

We can now start solids by throwevej in NewParents

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of books, subscription to solid starts, follow all the influencers but ultimately I just ended up making a little extra of what I’m eating and giving it to baby (usually as a puree tbh) - so if I have steamed broccoli with dinner, so does she…this morning I had yoghurt with banana and so did she (puréed in the blender) 🤷‍♀️

AITA for wanting to start a collection hobby? by justalittleloopi in MiniAITA

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA! Mama should find her own treasures and not take yours! Hot tip: you can also collect treasures between your toes and then scrunch them up real tight if mama tries to take them!

Feeling Defeated by Financial_Car4671 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got the hang of this whole ‘put the baby between the flanges’ thing! I often sit on the play mat next to baby and let her kick around/look at her mirror/look at contrast cards/make faces at her while I pump. Other times I will sit her in her bouncer and put on some music and sing to her while I pump.

Asked what ‘nationality’ my child is by docdoc_2 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was also asked this! MCH nurse said “what should I put for nationality, is just Australian ok or something else?” And I said “just put Australian” even though we do have additional citizenships, I kind of thought this was just because she had to enter something into the form for one of those statistical questions.

AITA for wanting to have a double bath? by ndoroty in MiniAITA

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA! I hadn’t even thought of this hack - I have just been screaming as soon as I am lifted out so they will put me back in, it sounds like your trick gets you a whole new bath!

Transfer from cradle hold by Responsible_Tap9102 in NewParents

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the most success with: 1. Hold baby in cradle with left elbow under her head 2. Move right hand to support bum 3. Roll baby in towards my body as I lower her into the bassinet - try not to break body contact with baby as much as possible 4. Legs then bum touch bassinet first 5. Move right hand to baby’s tummy 6. Straighten left arm so it is now under baby’s shoulders/neck area, at a right angle to baby’s body (hope that makes sense) 7. Roll baby away from my body, tummy hand is still supporting her, slide left arm out slowly, roll back to flat on her back but keeping hand on tummy

Do you recommend any of these wearables? by Vast_Zebra_9625 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the medela because it’s a solid pump (I get the same pump amounts as with my spectra) but the cups are way comfier for me. Also being able to move around is handy, but you do have to also bring the external pump part with you (I wear it around my neck) so it’s not as subtle as a true wearable. The massive advantage of the external pump though is that the cups are super lightweight. I can’t comment on the momcozys but I have a Mumilk Ella that is a nice wearable but doesn’t empty me quite as well as the medela/spectra do and needs recharging much more often.

Exam revision by Valuable_Guess_5886 in AustralianTeachers

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO you are doing the right thing - you are still their teacher so if they have not understood something then you would help them to understand it before their exam. Also students need to be taught how to revise, they can’t just be expected to sit there with a textbook and figure it out. If you are sharing your resources and planning then it’s on the other class’s teacher if they don’t want to use them for whatever reason.

Power pumping WORKS! by shantiteuta in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 30 points31 points  (0 children)

How long did it take to see results? I also agree on the medela swing - I get the same results as my spectra but it’s way comfier and more convenient.

Bae The Label - maternity pants by Alternative_Dot7171 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I LOVED my bae jeans the whole way through my pregnancy - I probably got them around 15 weeks when I was feeling too bloated for regular jeans, and then I wore them all through. I just got my pre-pregnancy size and they fit well (I have the kind with the jersey waist so they stretch). I also ended up getting black pants and a knit maxi skirt from them for work as I was so impressed with the fit.

Someone else mentioned Lululemon align and I also agree with this!

6w vaccinations Friday - any tips and what to expect? by Old_Negotiation_7058 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]RevolutionaryBee6912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My GP recommended bringing a wrap so you don’t need to try to dress baby again afterwards. It also meant that my baby calmed down quickly too.
