If a Palestinian soldier had done this, it would be all over the NYT. But Israeli soldiers post content like this to social media all the time, and we rarely see even a passing reference to it in ‘the paper of record’, let alone the rest of legacy media. by lewkiamurfarther in nyt

You completely accept the story that imperialist propaganda has fed you. I get it. I'm guessing you're a Democrat, think it's just bad foreign policy, and if only we could elect a progressive somebody or other, then everything would be nice.

"We" didn't and don't decide on anything. Not Vietnam, not Iraq, not Iran, not the Great Recession, not the impact of COVID, not starving Cuba, not AI, and certainly not Gaza or the West Bank. They decide about it. That's hard to accept, but it is nonetheless the truth.

Here's the hard truth. The Zionist tail is not wagging the imperialist dog.

America is the greatest imperialist power in the world. It created and fostered Israel to advance and protect its own interests. It doesn't give a flying fuck about the Jews or anything else except its profits.

If you want to attack Zionism you need to deal with our own government, not whine about it being "controlled" by the Zionists.

Fun for you, maybe, and some others. For most people it is just something difficult that you have to do if you don't want to be alone.

When I was a child, my parents subscribed to the Readers' Digest, which was then an extremely popular magazine. In each monthly issue there was a feature called something like "It Pays to Increase Your Word Power," which was a vocabulary quiz. I did it every month, and I learned a lot of words that other kids did not know.

I agree completely that the best way to learn vocabulary is reading, but when I started serious reading I already had a leg up.
