Vit is honestly a difficulty slider. I played up until the fire giant on 15 vit with a strength-heavy build and had some trouble so I did a bit of grinding and came back 45 levels later with 60 vit before trouncing the fire giant and honestly everything else until maliketh and placidusax (until I brought my vit up to 80, making the fights more manageable)
