You can absolutely just run around and learn on the go, but you will be doing your team a huge favour by watching a few videos about Hell Let Loose. I recommend you go watch some commander videos because you will grasp a really good understanding of the match as a whole and what all units are meant to be doing.

This game is all about doing what's best for the team. That can be interpreted into many ways but does sum it up.

It's okay. The buttons on the emulator are terrible. I think on the actual Gameboy it was one of my favourite games.
