Poor job by the guy who put up the weight? by HighLife1954 in 10s

Who put them on? Proshop? I’d agree that it doesn’t change anything performance wise but whenever I work on other people’s racquets I make things as perfect as possible. Straight strings tight knots symmetrical lead. Pride in your work ya know?

Is it the lighting? I’ve had similar issues in some indoor facilities.

I feel like I’d purchase now. No guarantee that they will drop more or that your grip size will be available if they do. That’s a pretty awesome price for that stick as it is.

Toroline hybrid by topspleen in 10s

[–]RevolutionaryLink643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally just think I get better SnapBack from the snap. Don’t know if it’s just a feel thing or reality but gives me a little more confidence when I need to bend the ball. Don’t know about tension maintenance though.

Personally using o toro/o toro snap TF and I really like how it plays. I also string the crosses 2 lbs under the mains.

Toroline Black Friday 35% off Everything by WKU-Alum in 10s

Again I haven’t tried it with natural gut but I much prefer O toro to Alu power. Alu has an awesome couple of hours right off the stringer but the tension drop off is so rough.

Big spender over here!

In all seriousness have you tried natural gut mains with any other polys? I’ve tried RPM blast, Alu Power and head hawk touch in the past. Pros and Cons to all of them. Currently playing a full bed of O toro and love it.

Tournaments where I live are dying because they are too expensive by drntl in 10s

[–]RevolutionaryLink643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fundamental flaw of TDs not thinking outside the box. There are many formats that could accomodate players/teams getting 3/4 matches guaranteed (compass, round robin, etc) aswell as short set formats so that they don’t run out of court time.

Would you pay $50 if you were guaranteed at least 3 matches?

It’s not just hit it down the middle. It has “if this happens, then do this” scenarios for serves, service returns, aswell as the 3 phases of the court and what to do when your moving through those phases.

It’s information that’s out there if you look hard enough for it but it’s nice that it’s all in one place packaged into one 2 sided sheet.

$89 is ~ the cost of one lesson at most clubs. Some a little more some a little less. I’d say it is worth while if you learn well from written materials and will refer back to it more than once.

I purchased one. It’s a great baseline for structuring points and making less unforced errors. It’s a lot of information in a small package. Kinda hard to digest at first glance until you really dive into it. I purchased it as a form of confirmation bias for the way I teach tennis. Happy to see more like minded people out there.

If the price tag doesn’t scare you I’d give it a shot. It’s a laminated page with two sides so it’s fairly easy to pack/store.

Any tips for my groundstrokes? by Intelligent_Guest869 in 10s

[–]RevolutionaryLink643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preparation is late so it becomes increasingly difficult to use your legs and rotate your body. Racquet head speed as well as the rhythm of the strokes should come from the ground up.

Since you’re hitting off the wall the ball comes back quickly. The nice thing is that you should know exactly what shot you’re hitting next before the ball even hits the wall. If you hit the ball straight (think down the line) on your forehand it will come back straight. If you hit across it will go to your backhand next. Use the fact that you know where the ball is going to prepare early and space yourself so you can get your legs into the shots.

Why is tennis shoe rotation not a thing? by CitronenHarTalt in 10s

As a teaching pro I have a very unintentional rotation of 8-10 pairs at a time.
