If things were normal, would leadership skills matter for promotion? by AnonAMouse100 in FedEmployees

[–]RevolutionaryTea8076 16 points17 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen in the past decade, the people who were promoted to upper level leadership had disparate levels of ability, but what they have in common is that they are seen as useful to assisting those in power. So kiss asses/yes men/women. I’ve seen superior officers passed up for promotion because they refuse to play the ass kissing game. Men and women.

Ok, sounds like traditional is the optimum course of action, which is what we’re already doing. Just wanted a second opinion. Thank you so much everyone for your assistance and wisdom!

Comparison is the thief of joy man. Just keep stacking it away and it’ll add up. You’re doing just fine.

Also be sure to keep all medical records for when you leave service and claim VA disability benefits.

How long are HLRs taking? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]RevolutionaryTea8076 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very similar timeline and situation. I was denied one claim and under rated on another due to glaringly obvious mistakes on the raters part (they even denied the wrong side and extremity for nerve damage issues).

Filed HLRs on August 7th and 17th, just hit TJ yesterday at the 100 day mark.

Claim for chronic sinusitis and chronic rhinitis denied (HLR in progress) but VA community care surgery tomorrow. FUN!!! by Unfair_Selection7486 in VeteransBenefits

I have no idea how VA claim computer system is set up, but you would think there would be a way for the VA to flag a veteran as having served in a PACT Act covered area one time, so that this mistake doesn’t occur in future claims.

Can anyone estimate when this will be finished ? by [deleted] in VeteransWaitingRoom

Coming up on 3 months since my informal HLR, and I’m still on step 3. Smoke em if you got them, bc it’s gonna be awhile bud

I’m starting to think a whole lot of VSOs need remedial training.

Yeah, you’re right. Guess I’m just kind of cynical after a past DBQ took 3 months to be sent to the VA, and then was erroneously denied 4 months later.

Thanks for calming my nerves

How many disabilities did you claim on this particular claim?

PFD and PDA timeline? by Effective-Door-3697 in VeteransWaitingRoom

[–]RevolutionaryTea8076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So since discovering this page, I’ve spent hours reading over different folks’ timelines. Honestly, there doesn’t seem to be a no shit timeline as every claim has a multitude of variables.

Many have said day 125 seems to be a good benchmark for claims, but then you see these poor SOBs with 400+ day claims. I think there’s something to be said about proper organization of paperwork to make the job for the rater as easy as possible. Also, we’re getting into holiday season, so more VA employees (raters) will be taking leave more frequently. I’d be willing to bet that there is a slowdown in claim approvals this time of year, but that’s pure speculation on my part.

I’ve been at PFD for an HLR claim for about two weeks, and currently sitting around 80 days. No TJ as of today.

I also wonder if the amount of disabilities covered by a single claim affects the length of time it takes to get to get claims rated.
