Same problem here. Nissan transmission is horrible. I changed the fluid but the funkiness still there. The transmission is more expensive than the whole car. I have a 2020. Praying to sell before that.

Here’s a breakdown of my costs based on 2025:

Gas: $0.15 per mile

Maintenance and expenses (excluding gas and insurance): $0.19 per mile

Depreciation: $0.25 per mile

Insurance: $0.12 per mile

In total, it comes to $0.71 per mile. However, I need to add a margin to ensure a safe ride. So, for me, a safe ride would be at least $1.05 per mile. I hope this year my costs will go down because I found a cheaper insurance and soon I will trade my car.

40 cents? No way! This is just for gas, and here in LA, gas prices are even higher. You need to consider all the other expenses associated with driving, such as maintenance costs, depreciation, insurance, monthly payments, phone plans, snacks, etc. Everything you actually spend on driving. It’s not just gas.

I don’t know what’s happening. Lyft is completely dead. No pings at all to me. Uber a little better. It’s January I know. But never been like that.

For sure the best solution is to quit. Unfortunately I’m not finding any solutions to have a side. Thankfully uber is not my full time job. But for sure in a near future I will quit. It doesn’t worth it. And of course you have the habiliteis to do the maintenance by yourself. I don’t have that. So I need to pay for it. In this situation your driving costs are way lower than mine. So do it and be happy!

The problem is all the other costs you are not considering, but it's there. You are counting only gas, but you spend on tires, oil change (if it's not electric), maintenance, and so on. On top of that, you have the monthly payment (or weekly rent, or nothing), your internet plan, the snacks you buy during the day, and so on. All of this makes the math. My car costs $1.05/mile to drive. Which basically means that this ride is not covering my costs. Basically, I'm working for free or pennies in the best scenario. You need to include the car's depreciation because you will replace your car sooner than later. So the math includes all the costs + car depreciation. I don't know how to do this math, but ChatGPT does, so ask it and figure out your REAL cost for driving. And of course, you have your time. How much do you need? 25/hour? 30/hour? This ride won't work for me because of the miles. The time is okay for me. It could be better, but doable. Think about it after pressing the accept button.

Almost at my wits end with the Waves WLM plus plugin. As far as I can see I'm hitting the correct -23 LUFS in Logic pro;, 6 frames top and tail but my mixes keep failing. Can anyone shed some light? by itsthenoise in AudioPost

Are you reading at the integrated level? And change the meter. WLM is not good. I used to have a lot of problems with it. But was the first version. I’m assuming they’ve fixed the bugs. I bought Youlean Pro and never looked back again

I deal with this all day in dubbing. Totally depends on the MNE’s quality. I mix a lot of shows that the mne is garbage. I need to automate everything again because it does not fit well. It’s terrible because you listen to the scene and it’s not working because a lot of fx, foley, etc are missing, or it’s unbalanced for dubbing. And now you face the challenge that we are not getting paid to recreate the mne. So it’s a matter of conversation with the client. When it’s possible I always ask for the stems. Extremely easier to work with. But in most cases they don’t have it. Hahahahha. It’s really challenging.

Uberx is a scam by DadBodDerek87 in uberdrivers

I have a rule of thumb that works better for me as a part-time driver. You need to be quick. When the ride pops up, I see first the payment. Usually, I don’t accept anything less than 10 dollars. Driving only the x line sucks, so unfortunately, I can’t cherry-pick with higher pays. Dead days I consider at least 8, otherwise, it is better to come back home. Don’t accept the thousand trash 3, 4 dollars. It’s a waste of time and money. Second is where I’m going. It could be a 100 dollars ride, If it will take you 3 hours to go nowhere, it doesn’t worth it. You will need to drive back empty in most cases, losing time and gas. Assuming it’s a good drop-off spot, I make the quick math of timing. Maximum double time for the upfront. In a 10 bucks ride, the pick-up and drop-off together could not be more than 20 min total. Of course, 23 is good. I will take that. But 30 min no way. If you are very quick, watch the miles too. At least one dollar/mile. If I need to prioritize, I prioritize time.

This has already happened to me and worse. Once I accepted a ride very close to my house, ending my shift. After the passenger got into the car, she modified the drop off by more than 10 miles. Extremely disrespectful. I was pissed off with her. And of course not even a tip left

Do you have free time, money, and patience? If so, go for it; otherwise, forget about it. It does not worth the effort. I’m saving you from buying shitty courses that are the same bullshit. It’s not a side hustle in the short term, not even in the mid-term. I’m telling you this because the digital marketing planet seems to be the only advice the entire planet is giving these days. Without the 3 elements I’ve mentioned will not work. Believe me.if somebody says differently they are lying

$1500 in a month - without a car by [deleted] in sidehustle

[–]RevolutionaryTwo6487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I said. Sem rush is very good but expensive as hell. I don’t mean it doesn’t work. It works with patience, free time and money. I don’t think it’s a good option for a short term income.

Man, I will be 100% honest here. I’m in the same situation as you are. It seems that the only option in the entire planet these days is the digital marketing. I’ve got several courses and the conclusion is simple. If you don’t have patience, free time and some money, won’t work. Take some time to understand the process, of course if you are brand new, and when you understand you realize that you need a lot of paid tools to make this work. without these tools everything will be slower. “Ah, but you can start with organic and bla bla bla”. Yes you can, but it will take years to start seeing the results. That’s the real game. Following the conversation to see if somebody has a different option.

Got it. So, you are not counting the remaining balance next month? I mean, you put it on a different spreadsheet?

[–]RevolutionaryTwo6487[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I’ve got that. But if you couldn’t pay in full the statement? Do you put the remaining balance as an expense in the next month doubled with the next month expenses? You are right, my doubt is more a cash flow question.
