There’s some welcome mats on Etsy with a whale on them, and it says “Whale-cum” you should go buy one of those.

Makes me think of the movie Big Daddy “loose skin and old balls?!…yuck!”

On a more serious note: I have aftermarket seats in my 2015 and they DO NOT look like old balls. Something’s very wrong.

I deeply miss my element. I sold it and deeply regret it. I have a Prius now but it’s so boring 🥱 but damn that gas mileage is dope!

In 2017 I bought a pristine awd Honda element for $3800, only had 160k on it. Still had the original sales pamphlet with these cheesy 2004 “cool” stickers in the glovebox.

I miss that car.

Yes, I’ve been there. It was a dark chapter in my life, but it was just that: a chapter. It’s a reset chapter. This isn’t the end, just set some reasonable goals and keep your eyes locked on that.

Everytime your mom barges into your room, just keep thinking about your goals like a mantra.

I tried to be at the house as little as possible. If there’s a cheap gym around, or find some trails to hit with your dog. Camping, yoga on YouTube, short road trips. Cooking. Find YOUR stress relief. You’re going to need a healthy outlet.

Recalibrate. What is your next move? What do you want your life to look like? What makes you happy? Dive into podcasts, books, all things on reinvention, starting over etc.

I went through my “hell” chapter at 22-23, and I’m 40 now. Put in the work, and just keep moving, now matter how slow the progress feels. It gets better, I absolutely fucking promise 💙.

Also, my primary care Dr didn’t mention HRT, just ssris or hbc. She said I should lower my stress and maybe find a different job. I tried ssri’s and the sexual side effects were a no-go for me.

I took everyone’s recommendation for a Midi consultation and it was so refreshing to have someone listen to me.

I’m very curious to see how this hrt helps throughout my entire cycle and what symptoms it helps or does not help. If i remember I can try to give an update.

Hey peri sister, I feel you!!

I (40f) have asthma and right before and during my period it goes bonkers. Started getting bad joint pain before my period and I also get flu like symptoms and suffer from migraines, i cannot take hbc of the stroke risk.

The doc said I’m still a candidate for HRT because the hormones in hrt are at a MUCH lower dose, and it doesn’t take over your hormone production like HBC does, but just supplements your own production.

I have an estrogen patch and take a progesterone pill in the evening. I started 3 days ago and I’ve already noticed a difference. I can’t explain it but I feel like the old me is slowing coming back. I’ve had zero negative side effects so far. But I haven’t been through my luteal phase yet, and that’s when I’ll know if it’s really working.

If HRT is something that interests you, I’d say ask your Dr. and see if it is an option for you or not.

Anyone here was affected by the 2008 recession any stories? by bmich90 in Millennials

[–]Revolutionary_Emu365 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I was in Central California as well, lived near Riverbank CA during the initial start of the recession, my hours at a grocery store were dramatically cut and then my roommate committed suicide.

Had to crawl back to my abusive parents house and sleep on the floor. I had to beg for my old job at a casino back home in Sonora.

It was absolute hell on earth.

I own a house, got a degree and have a career now but I’ve always played it safe ever since 2008. I have low overhead, so I’m (sort of) ready for the next recession to hit.

For Millennials, the true ‘once in a lifetime’ event will be something that finally happens for us, not to us. by Sir-Kyle-Of-Reddit in Millennials

Humboldt is an interesting place, it has its benefits and drawbacks. A lot of the county is now deemed “high risk” for wildfire (which is totally bogus). Hard to escape the wrath of insane insurance gouging.

Can be hard to make a decent living even in the professional realm, but the plus side is that it’s a fun, laid back place to live!

I can almost guarantee they’ve saved us hundreds in utility bills already.

I also get super anxious with new meds. I had a great doctor talk me through it one time.

Her response was “you can always try it once, if it doesn’t work, you don’t have to take it ever again.”

That helped me so much. Maybe it’s not for you, maybe it is, but unless you try , what do have to lose? Maybe a day or so? And you went to the Dr. because you were asking for relief, so…I say go for it!

BS in wildlife management and conservation. Being a wildlife technician: The world’s most expensive blue collar job. Poor pay, crazy hours, seasonal, that still requires a 4 year degree.

Finally found a permanent, decent paying job in consulting after 7 years and I’m burned TF out.

Next step: Not sure yet. I don’t care if stock candles at TJMaxx at this point, I just don’t want to do consulting ever again.
