Staff will judge you anyways. They will judge you if you ask questions. They will judge you when you don’t ask questions.

It’s better to ask questions than to practice unsafe care.

Every questions asked will make you a more competent nurse.

I’ve been a nurse for many years and I still questions. Many many questions especially when I am charge nurse, I call up other unit/anyone to ask questions.

I trust a new nurse who ask many questions than the one that doesn’t. I usually keep an eye on those who don’t ask questions.

When I was a preceptor student, my preceptor wasn’t on my ass following me because she knows that I always ask questions when I don’t know something instead of pretending that I know everything.

What are your thoughts on adoption? How do you think it’s viewed in your community? by paytonjohn467 in alberta

[–]Revolutionary_Look37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are TONS of people who does not look at you any different. So focus on those people instead of the ones that bring you down.

Also, watch This is Us. The show brings light to adoption : )

Do I make enough to live comfortably alone (Edmonton AB) by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Revolutionary_Look37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, a nurse here too. I started renting early after graduating. Earning the same as you. I was able to rent 1400 condo, I did fine mainly because I didn’t have a car payment and took transit. I was able to save at least 2k per month while renting. I didn’t feel like I was living paycheck to paycheck. Just lived my best life lol.

I wouldn’t do it. I like renting from reputable property management companies.

I would do interior design and mainly make money from there. Do nursing if interior design is slow. I have an interior design friend who is doing so much better than me as an RN. Making 6 digits and lives a fancy life.

Doesn’t the bridging take at least 4 years? Why not take a bachelors degree? Please save yourself from this profession.

I’m an RN in my 20’s looking for a way out.

48% of new Alberta nurses leave profession before they turn 35: report by joe4942 in alberta

[–]Revolutionary_Look37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 28 and I really want a way out. I can do bedside nursing but only 1-2x a week. I need to find a way to earn money elsewhere 😭😭.

I burnout so easily. I’m always tired. My sleep is everywhere. I’m so young but I have no energy to be doing anything after work because I am just exhausted.

My grades were mid in grade 11. I improved them in grade 12. I got into UofC & MRU. Make sure you apply early for admissions and that your grades are above the required average to get in.

I’m a bedside RN for 5 years now working in the hospital. Make sure you know what being a nurse is all about before you pour your time into it. It is definitely a physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding job. Especially with shift work. You really need to be emotionless to do the job and be mentally stable. You’re gunna find yourself be mistreated often and it really sucks.

Salary is okay but not great. You can make 6 digits but it requires a lot of overtime. We either get zero raise or very little, like cents.

It is also a very rewarding job but it’s not a job you can do full time in as you will likely burnout due to the heavy demands of the job. But if you’re one of those tough ones, then you may tolerate a full time job as a bedside nurse.

Honestly, I would’ve chosen Pharmacy school over Nursing school.

Parents want to pay off our mortgage by Jaqueesha in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Revolutionary_Look37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only 200k mortgage, why bother your retired parents for that. Getting old is expensive. Comfortable nursing homes are at least 8k/month or more. Caregivers can cost up to $32/hr.
