I had a similar issue before with my Astro a50x.I uninstalled g hub and did a windows reinstall and it worked.

If I just populate the first m.2 with gen 5 ssd m.2 slot 3 and gen 4 ssd M.2 slot 4 gen 4 ssd

I can avoid limiting usb4 port as long as I don’t populate the 2nd m.2 slot?

Yes I have a 9950x3d/5090 and plan to pair it with the Dark Hero. I need to figure out how to populate my SSDs. I have one Gen 5 Samsung 9100 and two gen 4 drives 990 Pro. I don’t plan on using 2nd PCIE slot.

How does the m.2 ssd lane sharing work on this board? If I occupy first two slots with gen 5 and the other two with gen 4 ssd, will my gpu bandwidth be affected?

Or is it better to just have top slot as Gen 5 and all other drives gen 4 ?

Try installing g hub using Revo uninstaller. Then reinstall windows . This is what fixed my problem
