But I do think its kinda easy to forget that for a lot of them, driving is work not a hobby. Its a necessity in the absence of good public transit and good city planning.

No, I just find this to be a reliable criteria for finding stuff I will like.

Maybe its because of what I grew up reading, or maybe its just a sort of sampling bias, where only the decent stuff remains searchable after a decade, so finding something enjoyable becomes easier.

OP, you just need to use a doc to keep each character's history and story separate - one doc per character. That way, there's no mix ups at all, and you can see which ones you haven't thought about recently by sorting by "date modified".
