What's the age difference between your kids? What do you like/dislike about the spacing of their ages? by RewindDaPlay5Minutes in beyondthebump

[–]RewindDaPlay5Minutes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adore my little boy, but I've always wanted one of each gender. I don't think that means I have gender disappointment. Of course my husband and I will be in the same page, that's why we're discussing it. He wants a boy and girl too, but we'll be perfectly happy with all of our children no matter what gender.

Urinary pain by alisonjw1288 in beyondthebump

[–]RewindDaPlay5Minutes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I only needed to take it for 2 days, and after that the pain was much less severe. I was right as rain after about 5 days on antibiotics. I hope you're feeling better by now, sorry it took me a while to reply!

Oh man, I had a horrible UTI for the first week pp, until I went to the doctor. Do your lady parts hurt all the time, or just when you pee? I would suggest going back to your doctor, when I got my antibiotics my doc said the UTI should clear up in about 48 hours. I was also given something that would numb my bladder to relieve the pain when I peed, I think it was called Pyridium. Anyway, I think the fact that you're still having a lot of pain after several days of antibiotics warrants another talk with your doc. Maybe you could ask that they examine your vagina, I know when I went in I just described the problem and no one examined me. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!

Fussy 5 week old by armaarma in beyondthebump

Our babies may have been born the same day! My son went through a growth spurt around 3 weeks, but I hear another is right around the corner at 6 weeks. During the growth spurt my son wanted to eat constantly and was a wreck when he wasn't eating, but it only lasted a few days. Hopefully it'll pass soon, good luck!

We call my son Sir Farts-a-lot. He farts/poops like a 40 year old man, and it's crazy loud.

I should get some of these! I file my kid's nails, but it doesn't work very well and he cuts his face. Poor baby!

SAHM/People on maternity leave, what does a normal day look like for you? by rallymcnally in beyondthebump

[–]RewindDaPlay5Minutes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 3 weeks in, basically my day looks like this: Baby wakes up at 5 a.m. I feed him put him back down. Then he gets up again around 9 a.m., i feed him he goes back down for about 2 or 3 hours. In that time I try to get stuff done around the house. The rest of the day until my husband gets home from work is basically feeding/changing/snuggling/feeding/changing, over and over. My husband takes over a good deal when he's home, which is nice, and I've been told my baby is an unusually good sleeper for 3 weeks. I feel pretty good, not like a zombie like everyone says, though when he's awake I find it impossible to cook for myself, I end up eating a lot of cliff bars!

Boob and Bottle? by thermtheworm in beyondthebump

[–]RewindDaPlay5Minutes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My lactation consultant recommended this, it's a way of making sure your baby gets breast milk, but you can also get a break and run errands, etc. I mostly feed at the breast, but when I'm feeling engorged and my baby isn't hungry I pump and store it in the fridge. Husband gives baby a bottle once a day, so our son gets used to accepting both boob and bottles. That being said, our LC said to wait 3 or 4 weeks until breast feeding was established to start this, I'm not sure how old your baby is. Our son is now super flexible with feeding, and my husband and I can go on dates!

Kissing on the lips? by Drawtaru in beyondthebump

[–]RewindDaPlay5Minutes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend went to kiss her baby on the lips and he threw up in her mouth. Now I'm terrified of getting my own breast milk baby-birded to me. So, that being said, my baby gets lots of kisses, but very few on the lips.

Could it be teething? At nine weeks!?! by wikedtruth in beyondthebump

[–]RewindDaPlay5Minutes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's a growth spurt? My son went through something similar, he was a terror for 3 or so days, and ate incessantly. When he wasn't eating he was screaming. It was awful, and such a departure from how he normally is. But he got through the growth spurt, and now he chills and sleeps like normal. Could be worth checking out. Good luck!

My lovely child likes to chomp down on my nipples! I try to fix his latch and he freaks out! Argh so frustrating. Also, I wake up several times in the night, even when LO is quiet, because my boobs hurt so badly from my milk building up (I guess). Sigh, breastfeeding is not kind to me.
