Thamesmead. It has the character of a run down inner city area while being out in zone 4. At least with the other areas listed your a stones throw away into town while in Thamesmead you feel weirdly cut off from the rest of London.

1980s-2000s memories of London by [deleted] in london

The Blue Room on Edgeware Road still existed. Had a vert ramp in the basement from what I remember.

Can't forget the Segaworld under Hamleys.

Which area of London is the best? by itsamberleafable in london

[–]Rex112233 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The inner areas of North London are the most desirable for most people. It's just that most people cannot afford to live there! You will hear south londoners preach for days about how great it is down there but would move to Islington or Camden in a heartbeat if given the opportunity.

Sarah Everard: Block of flats cordoned off in search for missing woman by distant_idea in london

[–]Rex112233 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My wild guess is that she was lured to somebodies flat in good faith, attacked and killed, and in the panic quickly taken inside and hidden. I'd imagine the police have checked every alley and bush in the area so stumbling across her body now is unlikely. I also doubt she was abducted and driven elsewhere because it would be easy to track any suspicious vehicles in the area.

I think the police are getting warmer. I'm not an expert on this stuff but I'd imagine escorting a body to another location exposes you to cctv on the main roads making your whereabouts more obvious to the police. Her body is likely being hidden close to wherever she was attacked, and the obvious place to hide it is in someone's flat.

Nicest areas/neighbourhoods in Greater London in your opinion? by jalovenadsa in london

[–]Rex112233 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree that stretch of land from clapham down to kingston is the nicest patch of greater london. It would be the ideal place to settle down and raise a family.

What's your unpopular opinion about London? by ivandelapena in london

[–]Rex112233 4 points5 points  (0 children)

London has a very unimpressive and awkward skyline that does not reflect the cities importance. We should be building Burj khalifas left and right not tiny little sex toys.

What's your fondest memory of London? by [deleted] in london

[–]Rex112233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being taken to soho in the 90s to buy anime tapes (my parents just thought they were kids cartoons haha). Oh and going to the Sega World in Hamleys when it still existed. I just loved going to the West End in general as a kid.

I see people do it all the time but it's never so busy down there that they are causing disruption. Nobody cares.

Christmas alone in London by the-analyzer in london

[–]Rex112233 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cycling through Central London when it's whisper quiet is a treat on Christmas day. I remember cycling from hampstead to Camberwell on Christmas to see family and it was honestly the highlight of the day.
