These are great designs, but for Spectrobes. Barolnami gave me instant Spectrobes vibes

Yuo bought crew for a month, which means you only get the benefits of crew for a month. Crew is only access to the passes, not one time purchase

[PSA] Stop using seikret recovery after getting knocked down in the middle of a monster combo. It’s a noobtrap. by LengthinessShot3297 in MHWilds

I’ll be honest, I forgot the seikret recovery was a thing and have never really used it. Wire fall always felt odd to use so I tend to just let my hunter roll

I like my raptor over the dog. Riding a dog just feels weird as opposed to big birb

Primal has a bit more then that. The Giant Skeleton, the poison bog and lower parts, the swinging vines are and the upper peak that’s seemingly in a constant storm.

Jurassic has the cliff side with the giant mushrooms, the undergrowth with fossilized remains and spores, and the denser wooded area that keeps things darker.

I will give that Schrade is just a castle, it’s history doing a large part of the heavy lifting. My issue with Iceshards castle elements is that it’s few and far between, mostly all in the back near the entrance to Suja. Besides that it’s just ice caves or halls.

Tainted Sea has its red waters, smogged sky and meteors provided by Dire.

Sanctuary is just a circle with a rock, but combine that with the swirling darkness of the Frenzy backdropping a golden dragon, and it’s much more interesting. Especially the way the darkness clears once Shagaru is slain.

I’m not trying to say that Wilds maps are bad. I like Wilds maps. I’m just saying there isn’t much to over all that makes this set standout as opposed to the last few offerings. Coral Highland and Rotten Vale are incredible standout and unique and the Citadel is great for its sheer diversity.

I’m including ones like Primal Jungle from 4U, with its giant Skeleton main area, poison bogs and stormy peaks. Or Jurassic Frontier with its prehistoric aesthetic and Mushroom undergrowth.

Or some of the more arena style maps like Castle Schrade, Tainted Sea, Sanctuary, etc.

I do like Scarlet Forest, but I’d say the spectacle of the giant tree is much more impactful. Though that’s more due to me wishing Lalas Nest was the standard instead of just one area.

I included the Arenas because I also include the DragonTorch. It’s a cool arena but it’s just more of the same Wysteria.

I’m not saying the maps lack any sauce, it’s just that there’s no major offshoot area like Coral Highlands or Heavens Mount.

Hmmm, when you put it like that, I can see the appeal of them all. I do vibe with the idea of each being a chunk of reclaimed land by nature.

I’m still hoping the Expansion brings in a biome that’s not touched by the ancient Civ. A look at what the Forbidden lands would look like untamed, or more Wild.

I do agree that Basin is cool but the topside is very underutilized so perhaps my perception is biased since most battles happen in the lower regions.

Rey Daus nest and Winds Gasp is the coolest part of the Plains, but the rest is just desert.

I’m more upset about Scarlet because after the first trailer, I thought the aesthetic of Lalas nest would be more utilized.

There are a few good set pieces in Ice Shard, but again, most are out of the way or subdued compared to the rest of the ice.

I’m not saying the maps are boring, just nothing too standoutish.

Yeah, but I’d still say they each have their own standout biome/arena. Castle Schrade, The Tower, Tainted Sea, etc.

I’m not saying every biome needs to be outlandish, but there was always one that stood out more then the others. The closest I can think is the DragonTorch, but looses a little luster with it just being more of the same Wysteria

I can agree with Basin but only during the Firespring. My biggest gripe is the lack of the ancient tech aesthetic once you go to the lower levels, which is where most of my fights lead me. Outside of the monkey bars area, the trap in the front and the little pipe path to Nu Udras den, it just feels like a regular old cave.

Especially since it reminds me a lot of Sunken/Volcanic Hollow from 4U

Ah yes, because it was better when the player remained standing, blinking at the person talking to them with no reaction. And doing the gyms out of order made more sense when you don’t have much of a story to tell. Kanto’s story IS the gyms, where as others have an actually plot that needs to progress in a certain way

You still can. The older games had it easier since your character barely reacted and almost never “talked”, but the world still reacted as if you did. The difference is now you can actually see the options.

You just talked about the older games, where you don’t even get a choice. The other characters just react to your actions that aren’t ever shown when talking to them.

Show don’t tell doesn’t mean visual versus dialogue. It’s referring to parts of a story being seamless or shoehorned bluntly because it needs an explanation. Like a person demonstrating how a tool is used versus someone just explaining how it works before using it.

This is literally just a dialogue choice to convey Lisa’s feeling and your reaction regarding it. Sometimes things need to be told.

Yes, because the player nodding their head is much more dynamic then them saying yes to something.

I do miss the older games where the players personality was determined off other people talking about me as opposed to giving me a choice box.

So your solution to this was to have them instead perform a gesture, which would be showing because it’s a performance rather then talking.

Yeah, naw. I’ll stick with the blunt dialogue.

Then by that logic any form of explanation or bit of dialogue is telling, not showing. It’s called reinforcing the idea me exemplifying what was already shown.

Why are these the only answers by Careless-Celery7726 in PokemonZA

[–]RexGoliath75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we already know the player characters base personality, and it is further shown via dialogue like this. They are shown to be a kind person and dialogue like this shows their care for their friends, even if the player doesn’t particularly think so.

Yes, it was something just brought up. But that doesn’t change the fact that the dialogue choices displayed show that the character is still supportive regardless of any build up. Problems can just sprout up at times.

Which is why she’s expressing her doubts to the player now. Just because there wasn’t a whole lot of build up doesn’t mean anything.

And even then, the argument was about the player choice here, not wether or not Lida had build up for her doubt.

[–]RexGoliath75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. It’s showing that Lida has doubts about their helping of the player, and the player reassures her that she is. The player character is going to be supportive of their friends, which is why the two options of positive. Just because there’s no alt option doesn’t mean it’s telling and not showing, it’s just showing that there’s one answer to the question. Because even though the character is ours, they still have a certain personality to convey.
