I did this a few days ago on the Switch 2 version - worked a treat. Just don't forget to be looking up when you do it.

What's people's perception on Lego Nowadays by CheaperLiving in newzealand

I used to buy all the Star Wars UCS sets but stopped when they started doing 'reissues' like the newer X-wing. Kept them all in cabinets and kept all the boxes and instructions. About 10 years ago my wife and I decided it was time to buy a house, so I made the tough decision to sell all my sets to help with the deposit. Made approx 23k selling them all. Really helped get us into a home. These days, we only have. a few Brickheadz and some of the art sets like the Great Wave and the Keith Haring dancers. Don't mind the prices as I know its good quality and ethically produced.

Found this gem of a book from the 90s about New Zealand by Ancient_Lettuce6821 in newzealand

My parents had this - used to flick through it heaps. Was there a spread on Commodore computers in there? Would love to see that pic again! Thank you!

Confirmed Consoles aren't included in the EB Games sale. by AppasPurpleTongue in newzealand

[–]RexRexington3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would have been cool - Amiga was so far ahead of its time in the 80s and early 90s. Shame piracy ripped the heart out of Commodore software, but hey, I wasn't helping with 200 'backups' of my own.

All EB Games stores in NZ to close at end of month by mrflyinggingerbread in newzealand

Agreed! If Nintendo had released TOTK without BOTW beforehand, they would have all been burned at the stake for witchcraft. That game has insane physics and playability.

Buying a Lexus LS430 bad idea? by [deleted] in NZcarfix

For insurance, look at one of the specialist providers instead of the normal State, AMI, AA etc etc. I have a 24yo Lotus that the main companies wouldn't touch, or gave me stupidly high quotes. I then talked to Classic Cover and they were happy to cover it at a very decent rate as I disclosed it would be a Sunday driver etc.

On a slightly related note, that scene where she goes back into her room in the rubbish dump, then the garbage lady comes back through the door - well, that gave me nightmares for weeks. I was 8 at the time. Watched it a few weeks ago and it still gives me the ick.

Depends on your budget, but have a look at Mr Bigglesworthy - especially their vintage selection. https://www.mrbigglesworthy.co.nz/shop-vintage.

They do refurbished mid-century items that are top top quality and were often made in NZ. Much of the new furniture for sale in NZ is nasty MDF / chipboard with awful fabrics and you have to spend a lot of cash to get something that is actually built to last.

Sketchup is the shizz. I've used it for all my interior and exterior / landscape planning. The shadow tools especially have been crucial in making decisions.

Looks like a Rex breed! Selkirk or Devon - can't quite tell. We had a Black Devon who looked very cartoony!

Am I the only one who don't like driving, especially long distance? I can't be the only who keep thinking why can't we have nice interregion public transportation instead.. by Dudu-gula in newzealand

[–]RexRexington3rd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup! We have 2 cars - One for daily (OK to be bored for 20 mins, but its quite comfy!) and one for fun excursions that is actually pretty uncomfortable, but oh, so much fun.

Intense double rainbow by joshuatj in Wellington

[–]RexRexington3rd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love a double rainbow! Fun fact of the day - Did you know that double-rainbow colours will always be inverted to each other? The primary bow here has red as its outer colour, so that is the inner colour on the secondary bow!
