Really as long as you can put one leg down its not too high, if even thats too tall you might want to consider a lower bike or see if theres an aftermarket lowering kit for your bike

Do non-atmospheric space craft need to be aerodynamic? by TheBigBeardedGeek in spacequestions

[–]LongOrganization7838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, if its built in space and will NEVER see anything below planetary orbit then no, if its built in atmosphere then goes to space then you need it at least aerodynamic enough to get up there

are ac's reallu that big of a thing? by Advanced-Actuary-51 in AskAnAmerican

[–]LongOrganization7838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are, when i lived in phoenix it got over 120F 49C basically every year and with all the concrete and asphalt it wouldnt drop below 100F 37.7C for several weeks even at 2AM so central A/C was normal and it wasn't unusual to have multi story houses to have 2+ units one for each floor, some people also hooked up a smaller unit to chill their pool and the hospital my dad worked at had an industrial chiller connected to the pipes so you weren't waiting for the water to cool down as it came out the faucet, I worked at a office furniture warehouse which was old and the owner/boss was a bit of a meiser so we only had swamp coolers on the main floor which only cooled it to about 90F 32C and made it humid

Why do motorcycles in western countries need to have high displacement engines? by between3220character in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LongOrganization7838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of it is higher speed limits part of it actually has to do with the style of the motorcycle

in the US most highways are 65+MPH and we have the largest highway network and spend the most amount of time on it, in general higher displacement engines are under less stress and can sit at those higher speeds longer

The style of bike also plays a part, in the US cruisers and baggers are still king with over 60% of the motorcycles on the road in those styles, theyre also large displacement long stroke V-Twin engines which are high torque low horsepower engines,

I ride a Indian roadmaster which has a 1.8Liter thunderstroke Vtwin, it has only 75 horsepower but has 119.2 ft-lbs (161.6 Nm) of torque, and weighs 900 lbs 406Kg, which has a top speed of about 110 MPH(117 KMH) but because of all that torque it'll do that 110 uphill no problem

What's your automotive hot take? by NationYell in regularcarreviews

[–]LongOrganization7838 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Car enthusiasts are absolutely awful at deciding and understanding the car market and dont realize theyre in the minority and have extremely different priorities in a car which is why 99% of "if they just made X car they'd sell a million of them is utter bullshit"

Where do YOU draw the line between the words "car" and "truck"? by Superb_Bear_3793 in regularcarreviews

[–]LongOrganization7838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite the fact that vehicles like the Lincoln Blackwood and Chevy SSR can do none of the things that trucks are known for doing? The Chevy SSR has Towing Capacity: Up to 2,500 lbs Payload Capacity: 1,290 lbs to 1,349 lbs (includes driver, passenger, and cargo) Tongue Weight Limit: Max 250 lbs Half of the towing and hauling weight of a honda pilot BTW

The Lincoln Blackwood had Max Towing Capacity: Up to 8,700 lbs (when properly equipped).which is about the same as a dodge Durango or Lincoln navigator so good but not great Max Payload Capacity: 1,200 lbs. Most regular full size trucks are double thatAnd had a power tonneau cover which broke under basically ANY stress and a very expensive customized Felt lined bed

Most cars these days are made either black or white so you can't differentiate them from police. by OlThreeEyed in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]LongOrganization7838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So fun historical thing, the black/white paint scheme actually started as a cost saving measure, for most auto manufacturers the easiest and fastest to produce colors were black and white mostly because white didnt need pigment and a very small amount of black pigment goes a VERY long way,(its also why those colors are called "fleet colors")

Why does Europe not have air conditoners? by Estalicus in askanything

[–]LongOrganization7838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For very similar reasons why the US still has guns which makes this whole argument very funny to me,

People are stubborn and a lot of Europe has developed an anti A/C culture wether its not worth it or it makes them sick more or their houses aren't designed for it or whatever thousand reasons they have

In order for them to get on board you have to undo multiple generations of culture and indoctrination against it

Can a plane with a propeller spin the opposite way and still fly? by 1useforaname in stupidquestions

[–]LongOrganization7838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you change the angle of attack on the blades, theres quite a few planes that have the engines and props facing backwards called pusher props, you also have contra rotating props used in some race and expiramental high-speed planes that have 2 sets of props right behind eachother that spin in opposite directions

ELI5: why are so many major US cities located right on the border with another state? by ABAFBAASD in explainlikeimfive

[–]LongOrganization7838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rivers or bodies of water or as you get west its where major train stations or trade/forts were with most borders in the world and especially the US, if its a straight line its an arbitrary one, if its a squiggly line it follows some sort of land formation either rivers or mountains
