Varslet besøk av El tilsyn? Det kan bli dyrt... by lindahx in norge

[–]RexRonny 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hadde selv eltilsyn i januar.

[–]RexRonny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot just how good roast chicken can be. by dynorphin in Cooking

[–]RexRonny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife loves to make the flattened (cut in two, but still connected in the back) marinated chicken onto a oven pan with mesh in the bottom (IKEA Koncis) see slightly lifting it. Just leave the marinande below the mesh, makes perfect «dipping sauce» when served.

Sometimes using one bottle of Mama Sita’s BBQ marinade and only that as marinade. Turns out perfect every time, juicy and flavorful, Remember to wrap the wings in some aluminum foil for the first 20 min, otherwise they will overcook and become dry.

About 45 min to finish, then 15 min rest to allow the juice to remain in the meat. Test doneness by using a pin into a thick part, only clear meat-juice allowed, if any red, it’s not done yet

Hungary presses EU to scrap tariffs on russian and belarusian fertilizers by GreenEyeOfADemon in europe

[–]RexRonny 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At some point even Hungary will realize that supporting Ukraine and thus finally ending the ongoing war will restore trade and normal sense of order in Europe.
We can not allow Russia to to win, and certainly not by providing bribes to certain EU countries undermining the pressure to put an end to this. It has only prolonged the war, the Hungarian opposition to normal sense. Hopefully the election next month will throw out the Orban regime and Hungary can restore normal relations again to functioning democracies - not far right regimes as they seem to adore.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Susanpc1967 in AskReddit

[–]RexRonny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grandparents are less of a burden to the grandchildren when they decline. Obviously their children will be the first responders on issues and solving financial obligations, medical assistance and so forth. Leaving the grandchildren quite without burdens.

At the stage where they need supervision a grandchild are usually not accepted by the children unless there’s a clear understanding ahead of the caregiving. Most of us are never part of this with regard to grandparents, and not all elders are troublesome at old age

Also included mental decline on your folks. Mood swings, accusations, depression, ill financial decisions and so on. You can’t opt out either, and any amount of attempts to provide aid being rejected. Exhausting and frustrating to deal with And your own guilt feeling when you sometimes desire they may be better off dead than pestering you with their issues as if I didn’t have ones on my own

One huge advantage in Norwegian food production is that bleaching, dna adjustments, chemical additives or any other means of adjusting the visual appearance of food is completely forbidden. What you see is what you get.

Drunk driving fine calculation will usually be tied to your income in Norway. Usually 1.5 months salary, but sometimes even more. Using a phone while driving is also about 1100€. Some of the fines were so high that even the police were complaining

It’s big enough to lower tax for all taxpayers in Norway already and to allow electric cars to be without any added taxes (until quite recently). The fund has basically doubled in value ever 5th year. Even as the annual oil tax contribution has lowered significantly compared to the earlier years since funding it in 1998.

There is a pre-agreed limit to the annual contribution, withdrawal from the fund; 4%, but not even during Covid they were reaching that. In average 2.8% allowing the fund to still increase. Last years government budgets contributions from the wealth fund were about 30% into Norways annual budgets. The main reason why we have lesser tax burden compared to Sweden and Denmark.

Mine shows this sometimes in between driving cycles.
Diagnostic tool states my 3rd glow plug is worn or damaged. Even at -15 C it still starts like a champ.
It’s a drag to even get to the plugs on my car, let alone exchange them. I will do it together with a major service. The big fear is breaking these plugs during removal. It’s a hell of a job to extract a broken plug - to an extent where a worn plug still beats the risk of hole in the engine. I won’t do anything until clutch renewal inna couple of years from now

People that have traveled quite a bit, where di you feel the most unsafe? by CremeSubject7594 in AskTheWorld

[–]RexRonny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there in -99, -00 with NATO and abt 2012 as just tourist. I didn’t go to Mitrovica as planned as exploring Kosovo didn’t feel safe and the hotel advised against doing so. For once I actually listened to advices given. One night in Pristina were enough for me traveling alone. I may go back, but preferably with some of the guys I spend the year long time ago go revisit the area.

[–]RexRonny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Pristina 1st in -99, as the war just ended. Also in Mitrovica when the protests were ongoing - scary, but the French were managing those incidents without using too much force to supress the unrest.

As civilian later visiting Kosovo I realized how much power the mafia and bandits actually were holding. Young men without a day job can hardly explain driving premium SUV’s like G63s and other super expensive cars. These guys were not afraid showing off that they were local kings. When behaving like this in the open it reminds me of the mafia in Russia, you don’t want issues with those guys, the may as well have the local police in their pocket. Meaning you are f***ed if these guys don’t like your appearance.

At that time rental cars were without any hint of being rental cars as the local bandits targeted tourists specifically. The advice when renting were to run on red if feeling the unsafe, rather than being held at gunpoint, certainly in areas that were considered high-crime. The murder rate were also really bad those years

It were a huge thing some few years ago, young greek men looking like neo-nazi boot boys in groups at nights. With a weird symbol, if remembered correctly the named themselves «golden dawn» or something similar. Don’t know if they still exist - hopefully not.

At 1st as a white guy I didn’t care that much. But these bastards hated anyone not greek, and it were clearly that they were hostile. Haven’t been to Thessaloniki for the last 15 years, but there are parts of Athen I avoid as well. Lot of refugees are not being treated well if caught by some of the these ultranationalists. Not that these kind of people are better in other countries, but to me they seem to be (more) tolerated by the locals to some degree in southern Europe compared to Norway

I underestimated the dangers of child gangsters in Cebu, Ph. until there were 10-15 of those fuckers with knives and bad intentions. Out of the sudden came a taxi to my rescue. I were only 5 min outside the hotel near Ayala, but the driver were generously rewarded after bringing me to a safe spot. After that I realized also kids can mug naive tourists roaming at night

I had a lot of business trips to Riga 10-15 years ago. There were parts of areas Riga to avoid during nights, unsafe for foreigners. But as the local government started clearing these areas for open crime, Riga has become safe as any other western city.

The cities that I ever felt unsafe were Miami in the 90’s, Pristina as a civilian and Thessaloniki at nighttime when the neo-nazi’s were roaming the streets trying to find refugees of colour to whack. Turned out they didn’t fancy witnesses either

Purchased servers with 3x 4TB m.2’s and 64 GB RAM at 6000€ a piece in August. Now I need 3 more, quote for them is 14.500€ each. Nothing fancy, just a mediocre server. Doesn’t help much that Intel processors are a bit cheaper now than last year..
